Because our laws are just a big fucking joke now? If I were in Columbia, they'd ask me for my papers. I've been in foreign countries before, I've been stopped and asked for my visa - no reasonable suspicion of anything, not incident to a lawful stop - sometimes just because of how I look. I don't like it, but I comply, because I'm a guest in their fucking country. It's their problem if they choose not to have a Fourth Amendment in their private shithole. And I'm glad to get back to the U.S. where there is a Fourth Amendment.

But don't tell me it's "wrong" to check somebody's citizenship status if it's incident to a lawful stop. Or that it's cool for people to thumb their nose at our laws. I haven't heard one person here (or in my real world) say they dislike immigrants. They just dislike people who shit on the rules.

I remember. It wasn't all that long ago. Bush was by far the most disrespected President (or any public figure) we have seen in our lifetimes. Not going to debate whether some here believed he deserved that honor or not, just the fact that a lot worse was said & done to him in protests.
