Unfortunately, Obama won't be here to deal with any of it.
He just took off for a billion-dollar weekend, taking 2 THOUSAND fucking people on a jaunt to India at a cost to the taxpayer of quarter-billion a day.
Niiiice... impeachment right around the corner! Stupid fucker's been vetoing the taxpayer from the minute he took a seat - which now belongs to a Republican. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

All this election means is the Federal Government will be gridlocked for two years. Meanwhile, we will get $4 trillion of tax increases in 2011.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

The only thing that kept the conservatives from taking the US Senate was they ran poor candidates. One good reason they need to dump Sarah Palin and not give her a nomination because it's obvious the fruit loop is going to run for president. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

Child sex abuse victims' bill
Johnson opposed a Wisconsin bill that would have made it easier for child sex abuse victims to sue their abusers. The bill would have eliminated the time limit for future victims to bring a lawsuit, and would have opened a three year window to sue for past victims whose time limit had already expired.[1][2] Johnson testified before the Wisconsin Senate in January 2010 on the financial aspects of the bill, and questioned whether it would be just for employers of perpetrators to be severely financially damaged or destroyed by such lawsuits.[1] He added that the bill, if enacted, might have the undesirable effect of reducing the reporting of these crimes and increasing the number of child victims.[1][2] At the time of his testimony he was on the Finance Council of the Catholic Archdiocese of Green Bay, a committee that meets only three times a year, and his argument supported that position of the Catholic Church.[1][2]
In June 2010 he told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, "Actually, had I not been put on the clock (in the state Senate), I would have made another statement," and, "I can't think of a penalty that would be too harsh for these guys."[1] In late September 2010 Johnson said he stood by his earlier testimony. He added that the legislation would have financially crippled organizations such as the Boys and Girls Clubs, and that he thinks the punishment for child sex abuse should be "severe and swift".[2] He was criticized for by victims' rights groups including the Survivors Network of those Abused by Priests and by his opponent, Feingold.[2]

Still it's absolutely crazy that it's got to the point where the president has to travel with 3000 people.
I'm not sure how reliable that $200 million a day figure is though, it's quoted everywhere but it seems to have just come from an Indian observer.
That's $66k per person per day, I really doubt it's that much. The true figure will come out in some public accounts at some point and it would be interesting to see how far out the reports are.Last edited by Seshmeister; 11-03-2010, 11:50 AM.Comment

That was embarrassing.. it sounded like he was drunk. At that point I had to shut 'er down.
Usually at the point of winning the finish line, you see a guy's true character revealed because they lose their composure in the moment and I don't want a guy that runs to the bottle OR a baseball bat when that happens in the future. They're supposed to lead.

Interesting thing to remember when he keeps saying how he never planned to become a congressman and how he is doing it all out of public service and his fellow man. He handed out checks from tobacco lobbyists on the House floor in 1995 while lawmakers were weighing tobacco subsidies and in 2004, he allowed Sallie Mae to throw him a fundraiser while the student lending outfit was lobbying his committee.Comment
