Representatives in the state Assembly have voted to pass a controversial budget repair bill that would strip public sector workers of nearly all their collective bargaining rights, require public employees to pay more into the health care and pension, and change Medicaid within Wisconsin.
Just after 1 a.m. Friday, Assembly Republicans finally defeated the last of dozens of amendments that Democrats wanted to attach to the bill. Republicans use a procedural rule to bring an end to debate and call a vote early. The vote took just a matter of seconds, so fast that 28 members did not even get to vote, most of them Democrats. The bill passed with a 51-17 vote, with four Republicans voting against it.

The WI Democrats are now crying about how the Republican majority is ramming this legislation down their throats. Umm.....that's usually what the majority does. Do they not remember Obamacare? Democrat majority pretty much rammed that through. Only difference is they labeled the Republicans the party of NO for showing up & debating it. I guess they Democrats are the party of hide out now & complain later.

The public voted these people in for a reason. The majority will pass their legislation. If the people don't like it, it will be reflected at the next elections and things can be "corrected" at that time.

What EVERYBODY needs to get through their heads is we are out of money and have to cut costs. Only a fool would charge more to the credit card. The only way out is to produce our way out and that means some of these public sector employees are going to have to work for themselves or in the private sector. The private sector has already taken a beating and there is jelousey. of the public sector perks.

The real problem is creating jobs for everyone to go to. The government just keeps making it harder to run a business and Obama has made it even worse. Nobody who has to meet payroll from sales thinks much of him.

No offense FORD, but the only reading material you've provided on the subject was an editorial, and the writing style certainly makes it hard to argue that it was an objective piece. The link in that article, by the way, doesn't work. I'd like to read it if it is available somewhere.
