But the guy actually makes a true statement, for once in his life - calling out the Jockstrap Ryan budget plan for the extremist horseshit it is - and suddenly he can't even walk through a mall without being harrassed by the teabaggers.........

Newt won't get the Republican nomination. But having him in the debates will be good. I wish Trump would have ran at least for a few debates. Would have been entertaining as hell to see. I think Newt would be a better VP candidate than the top spot. Especially if the nominee has little insider experience, Newt will shore up those concerns a little. Ease a few voters minds so to speak.

I wonder if the Republicans can convince Rick Perry of Texas to run. Automatic front-runner for the nomination if he does. I think he just might, but will wait until the field thins out a bit and is much more clear.

Chris Christie I believe is waiting for a 2016 run. Build up his resume and he doesn't want to risk losing to Obama. Once you lose a Presidential election, the chances of getting it the 2nd or 3rd time around really drops off.

Mitch Daniels? Fuck, I don't know anything about the guy. Jeb Bush? I think if he ever runs it will be a 2016 bid.

I just don't see any Republican that can beat Obama. Not that Obama is any good, but there is absolutely zero name recognition for any of the Republicans outside of people who follow politics. And that is a small percentage of the public.

Gingrich isn't a serious candidate.

He's fully aware that he's not going to come remotely close to getting the nomination, and what the mainstream political pundits claim in terms of the level of influence he supposedly has in shaping contemporary conservative philosophies has more to do with the frequency of his television appearances than any real ability to sway people to cast a vote for him.

His whole candidacy is little more than a calculation on his part to maintain his standing and visibility in the media eye, and prolong the waning moments of his extended 15 minutes of fame, rather than totally and finally slide into political oblivion.

There's no downside to him NOT running, so he did. The guy has been, for all intents and purposes, cooked since 1998.

it reminds me of this one clip I saw on youtube where some anti-abortion "women" (and I use that term lightly), was bitching at limbaugh over being pro-life.

and..I..think limbaugh is a bit of a scumbag, but to his credit, he tried to give the women the opportunity to debate him on the issue, which would be easy if you had any sense of knowledge on the topic. EASY. Hell, I have next to little interest in it, and I could probably formulate some form of an opinion.
