Sesh meant to say member of The House...not Senator.

Today's Senators are bought, paid for, and almost IMPOSSIBLE to unseat, and with their 6 year terms need not sweat campaign funds as much....

However, look how EASY it was to sweep in 80-some TeaBaggers who would all fail an 8th grade Social Studies test....

Congress is the main problem though and that does go back to political funding. It's important for Democrats to remember it was their guys who were bought and owned that stopped healthcare when they had a majority in both houses.
        This is spot on.

I understand why Obama is courting the middle, but the leadership has been absent. Way too quick to compromise, and not enough tough action. The same can be said for most of the Democratic party, which is one reason why the Republicans have been so successful.

I'm amazed how many people actually respond to Nitro's repetitive babbling.

Quite often I glance to see if there is anything new if it's not a long babble but I only read about 10% of it.

Senators need to generate huge amounts of money too though, $60000 a day according to Carl Bernstein here.

Apparently the banks and corporations have lobbyists that have more lucrative offers for politicians than the lobbyists that represent the above. Social Security? Looted already. Medicare? Obama cut it. Unions? Well they did get a part of GM while the bond holders got stuck. Green Technology? Only the big corporations get the grants. Affordable healthcare? It's more expensive than ever.

High speed trains - not exclusively a "liberal" cause, but I don't know any liberals opposed to them. Another thing the US should be leading in, but not even on the goddamned track - to make a bad pun.
You misunderstood my post. I'm looking at things from a politician's point of view which is who pays me the most? It isn't liberal causes. It's banks and corporations who pay politicians and that is where the money is. They may talk socialized medicine and high speed rail and this and that but what have we gotten? Business as usual with even more bailouts for banks and corporations. Politicians follow the money and if the money was in liberal causes then we would have some of that but from a politician's point of view there is no lobby money there.

Politicians aren't smart enough nor do they care about the big picture beyond oil and nuclear. What is Obama selling? Nuclear because GE owns his ass and they make the plants. He was talking clean coal a few years ago but maybe GE and the uranium mining industry sprinkled more sugar on him.

Frankly I'm amazed myself. It's not like I put a whole lot of effort into them.

This whole thing is really aggravating to me.

They didn't cut any damn spending ... they just agreed to borrow less than they were going to. That's not cutting spending!

Those bozos don't care about fixing the problems with the country's spending. If they did, they'd make serious cuts in the spending AND raise the revenues. They'd have a realistic plan for paying down the debt and a realistic plan for INTELLIGENTLY passing balanced budgets.

A lot of people aren't taking this as seriously as they should be. They say things like "who cares, these people are the same ones that AAA-rated the securities in the market crash." So what? That doesn't detract from the seriousness of the situation. This should be a big wake up call. Things are not good and the people we have in office are intentionally doing things that are making it worse. They are holding ALL of us hostage to push their own petty agendas.

They need to bring back the line-item veto and get the budget back under control. Serious reform MUST happen.
I've got the cure you're thinkin' of.

The Christian Taliban think that blow job is far far more important than hundreds of thousands of people killed and trillions of debt.

Clinton still gets criticised for thinking 'Fuck this shit' after losing a handful of troops in Somalia.

I think it was a pretty sensible decision.

A game of naked Twister must happen as well. I wouldn't throw the girl on the far left out of the game just because she has small tits. Unlike Washington politicians I would treat everyone in that movie clip equally well.
