Are you the same person you were at 18?

I'm only 29 and I'd say I'm a very different person to the one I was at 18.......

His house caught fire and his children were killed and then some evidence wrongly pointed at arson.

Another thing for some of the Republicans on here to ponder. The prosecution evidence which Rick Perry relied on to try and explain what would have been a motiveless crime was that the accused was a sociopath shown by his 'obsession' with death.

The 'proof' of this was he had an Iron Maiden and a Led Zepplin poster on his wall.

Ironically only a sociopath or psychopath could put 234 people to death and not wonder about their innocence. Only a completely crazy one would after this case.

Young men are very different from those in their 30s and 40s.

That's why we use young men to do most of the killing in the military. What's the phrase 'young, dumb and full of cum?'

Yeah, I heard about the Willingham case in Texas. It's absolutely ridiculous that someone could be convicted, let alone sentenced to death and executed on nothing more than a "spiderweb" pattern on a window of a burned house, and some other circumstantial hints of arson. Even by Texas standards, that's crazy.

His only remaining recourse was to appeal to the governor of Texas, Rick Perry, a Republican, for clemency. The process, considered the last gatekeeper to the executioner, has been called by the U.S. Supreme Court “the ‘fail safe’ in our criminal justice system.”
This same psycho could now end up being the 'Fail Safe' on a vast nuclear arsenal..

I think the Repuke/corporatist establishment realizes that Chimpy 2.0 isn't going to sell, and they're gonna throw Perry overboard. The KKKoch brothers and some of their Wall $treet buddies are leaning hard on Jabba the Hutt Christie in New Jersey even now, begging him to jump in, knowing that Romney will never win the South due to his holy underwear fetish.

Problem is that Christie has repeatedly said he doesn't want the damn job. And the teabaggers probably wouldn't vote for anybody from a northeastern state either.

I think even Republicans must be wondering what sort of a fucked up system gives them a choice of these bozo's.

A population of 300 million and these are the best?

What a coincidence! I thought the same of the Democratic field 3 years ago. An ex-president's bitch of a wife, someone who was cheating on his cancer-ridden wife, and a man with a slogan and no experience in anything other than dirty politics.

Too many barriers to entry for both parties.

You can't be bald, you have say you are a devout mainstream Christian, you have to say you support the death penalty and are against legalised abortion, you have to be anti-gay but just a bit, you have to be married with kids(more the better), you can't sound too well educated, you can't be doing something useful that stops you being able to campaign for 2 years, you have to be able to raise a billion dollars.

To be fair a few years ago I would have said you couldn't be black so maybe there is hope for bald people...

The arguments for it don't really add up:

                          1) Harsher penalties will deter crime (evidence shows it doesn't work).

                          2) I'd like to see bad people die (because I'm not goog at grasping irony).

I was shouting at the TV screen last week, our very own Bachman.

The twisted witch had no answer or argument whatsoever, I could have made a far better moot case than she did.

It must be very annoying to women in general that for some reason so many of their sex that end up in politics these days are so idiotic and nasty with it.

How could it if you think about it. People don't kill based on whether they will be executed after a 15 year legal debate v going to prison for life. They think they won't get caught or they don't think at all.

The South will vote for a Mormon if they think that is what they will have to do to get Obama out of office. It's not a vote for Romney. It's a vote against Obama. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
