Sadly, the country sold the hospital to a for profit care organization and the prices went way up even though the hospital staff and facility is still good.

What people fail to realize is we did have government healthcare in the US. They were ran by the local governments. We just didn't have a big national program.
Alberta-Saskatchewan-Manitoba always gave me the impression they were moderate democrat than say, left-wing in terms of politics. I think it's just demographics in that regard. I could of course, be talking out of my ass, so any Canadian who disagrees, please correct me.

I recall reading while lurking on a Oilers or Flames board that Alberta is considering allowing private practices to exist in some way shape or form, so obviously there's some sort of support for the concept.

Alberta might as well be Montana. Lot's of rednecks. They are into rodeo big time. Independent type people.

I caught the late re-showing of the debate. My take is Rick Perry stumbled a lot. When he spoke he didn't do it with authority and he seemed trying really hard to put his thoughts into words and it just didn't come out well.

Mitt Romney did really really well in my eyes. Since Rick Perry entered the race, Romney has been a changed man. Not sure if he can keep this new Mitt up, but if he does watch out.

Herman Cain rocked. I love that guy. He's funny as hell and has some decent ideas.

Ron Paul is always fun to see him pop in with some great answers.

Newt was a non-factor yet again. Plus he is stuck 20 years ago. Someone really needs to get him up to speed with how much the world & the country has changed since then.

Michelle Bachmann seems like a nice & smart enough person, just not to lead the country. I give her tremendous props for all the children she has raised. I will not vote for her as President though. Something about her that I just don't trust. Not so much that I think she is a liar. But there is something there that sets off my internal alarm.

The rest were just background props.

            I wouldn't let her raise a goldfish.

Those kids will have been badly damaged by being raised by idiot holes with bizarre beliefs and the massive repression of trying to live in a heterosexual relationship when you are a screaming queer. The will have huge social hang ups and a warped view of the world around them.

It's like saying that 'isn't it good that the Westbro Church people spend so much time with their kids taking them out on protests...'

I worked under Mitt as an olympic volunteer. He came into a very bad situation and did a great job of straightening it out. The man can do a good job but his record in Massachusetts as governor show he will just be another Bush or Obama. The sad thing is Mitt does have the skills to be a great president but he's a liar and looks out for the interests of the corporations he befriends. He will say anything to get elected.

Oh my. I don't want Michelle as president but I'm starting to think if Ford was president he would be like Nero. He would blame the Republicans for everything and throw the Christians to the lions.

It's nothing more than people who deeply believe the working mans party or party of the people failed to deliver the socialist utopia they thought Obama would roll in over the conservatives in this country. Both parties are equally corrupt but these people have waived the Democrat flag for so long and have such a deep seeded hate of conservatives of course they are going to bash the living shit out of the Republican Party while turning a blind eye to their own party being the same thing.

The current Democrat tactic is shit on the tea party and label them as dangerous fanatics and stir the shit. Of course they offer no real solutions or even bother to run someone better than Obama who they admit they are disappointed. In other words the Democratic Party ripped off and duped their voting base but the voting base doesn't want to admit they were taken to the cleaners so lets blame the Republicans for everything.

Reagan had the Russian menace then as an excuse. The American public feared the Soviet Union and The Gipper was keeping us safe. Also, the personal computer revolution was going full bore and bringing a lot of money into the country and Reagan was not as anti-small business as our current batch of politicians. The PC revolution pulled us out of recession then more than Reagan did. Nobody cared that they were losing the weaving mill or the steel mill, technology was going to replace those and we would have better jobs the key was to get a college degree.
