People that have too many skeletons in their closet should not even think about running for President, because whatever secrets that are being hidden WILL eventually come to light and doom the campaign. Cain is a prime example of that. Bill Clinton is about the only candidate I can think of who had numerous skeletons in the closet that was able to overcome it all and get elected, and that's only because of the great politician he was.

That's the mentality.
Brie (and far too many people just like him) choose their candidates the way other people choose their pets, they look for things that remind them of themselves.
So when they watch these human gaffe machines on television saying something absurd, mangling and destroying the English language, they look over at their sister and say "Look honey, he sounds just like me! This guy's one of us!".
And they immediately form a kinship with these candidates based strictly on their common ignorance.

A candidate who is apt and mentally capable of solving problems and getting things done is of no interest to these people...at all!

To be perfectly honest, alot of folks who were in his inner circle would probably disagree with that. Unfortunately, neither of those folks are alive anymore. They......ummm....."committed suicide" or something like that.

He actually could've taught Cain the cardinal rule of never leaving a living witness.
