Muslim organizations across the United States tell TMZ they are outraged by the disturbing footage which appears to show Marines urinating on the bodies of dead Taliban fighters.

"We are appalled by the video" ... a rep for the Muslim Public Affair Council tells us ..."
I rarely speak in this forum all that much these days, yet I'd like to offer the following:

Coincidentally, as a citizen of the United States, I am equally appalled by the events that occurred on September 11, 2001. Eat a sand turd and choke, motherfuckers.

Yup. I got a photo book on Guadalcanal and dudes were driving jeeps decorated with decapitated Japanese heads and all sorts of colorful things going on. I don't think any of that ended up in Life Magazine at the time. A person put into those situations will get over killing another person soon enough and as the misery continues and the enemy makes your life more miserable, well human beings just tend to do stuff that the people back at home in Mayberry or Mr. Roger's Neighborhood think is appauling. Best not to show it.

Middle East = Father Abraham's cluster fuck junction.

Just another war in a place that has had them for thousands of years.

9-11-2001 will live in infamy as the darkest day in American history. Innocent lives were lost and thousands of families were shattered by an act so cowardly that it has permanently changed our collective way of thinking.

That being said, we cannot paint an entire race or religion with the same brush - the same way we don't wish foreigners to stereotype us as arrogant, aggressive war mongers who want to fleece the world of its natural resources by any means necessary.

It's real easy to direct our hatred overseas, but I will go to my grave believing that our government played as big a role in 9-11 as anyone. The evidence is overwhelming, and it's there for anyone who wants to see it.

9-11 was the catalyst which allowed the U.S. government to rob its citizens of their privacy with Draconian legislation, and ensure big brother can keep a closer on our every move, while simultaneously generating untold fortunes for the very same people who led us into war. The bin-Laden and Bush families made billions on oil they pilfered from the middle east, while Don Cheney also profited through his links to Halliburton.

Who lost? The American people - good people who blindly believed in their leaders and suffered the ultimate betrayal...

Actually the Civil War was far worse than 9-11. That still was the worst time in US History. The carnage and suffering was far greater.

I had a muslim neighbor who I became good friends with. One day I asked him to explain islam to me because I really didn't know much about it. He just sighed and said it was as screwed up as Christianity is. He said there are muslims who fight other muslims over religion and there even was one group of muslims that worshipped Mohamed's brother instead of Mohamed. LOL! Basically same shit different names. I thought it was a pretty good explanation. You have three major religions dumped into an area and they don't even get along with each other. It's total madness. As he said, there's nothing in the middle east worth killing our kids over.

One guy cracked me up when he said what the world really needs is a fake armeggedon so all the religious assholes think prophecy has been fulfilled so we can get that mind trip out of the way and get on with modern life. LOL!

No single day during the Civil War impacted this country greater than 9-11.

I agree that the carnage and suffering during the Civil War was greater, but it took 4 years of war. 9-11 was a single-day event.

Snipers? I doubt that. Especially since you've gotta be the top dog in your unit in order to be one. Plus, your identity has to be hidden. Looks like just a squad of grunts with a NCO in charge.

Look, I hear you. In rebuttle, I'd like to offer a few items.

Reread the heading of this particular forum:

The ongoing discussion on the War Against Terrorism. The soldiers of the DLR Army strike back. In honor of the victims of September 11, 2001. We will never forget.
Keeping that in mind, I'll say that my own murky resolve regarding political theater and war lay somewhere between the following points...

"Those who have had a chance for four years and could not produce peace should not be given another chance." - Richard M. Nixon, October 9, 1968

"No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country. He won it by making the other poor dumb bastard die for his country." - Attributed to General George Patton Jr

No kidding, the innocent shall suffer. I lost my brother due to his participation in the festivities of Viet Nam, so the entire issue of armed conflict has left me bitterly confused and completely disillusioned. Hell, my mom used to relate the horror of living in England as a child when Hitler's Luftwaffe wantonly dropped bombs all over her neighborhood. Yes, I feel compassion for those that have suffered. Yet by the same token, I won't shed a single tear for the bastards dying that drew first blood, nor will I give a crap about how their relatives feel about it.

(No, I won't get into the whole Gulf of Tonkin incident and who started the Vietnamese conflict. There are only so many hours in a working day, and only such a limit to my conscience.)

Well shit that would definitely ruin the flavor of sharing the raw heart and washing it down with a few flagons of mead.

I don't truly believe in desecrating a corpse.

Disrespectfull, but not a war crime.

Saw this video last night. To me it reminds of Terrell Owens stupid end-zone celebration. Act like you've been there before. Totally classless & unprofessional. Our Marines should be more like Barry Sanders...punch it in, hand the ball off to the ref, and get right back to business.

Gee, let's train people to think that the enemy are less than human to alleviate any possible feelings of guilt caused by taking a human life....and then whine when soldiers behave in a manner that demonstrates they believe their enemies are less than human.

                                Hey chef,

I'll start by saying that I'm sorry that your brother paid the ultimate price for his involvement in Vietnam, but Nixon's quote is ironic considering that he actually escalated America's involvement in that senseless war. What exactly was Nixon's contribution to peace during that time?

No parent should ever have to bury a son or daughter, and my heart goes out to any parent who has been in that situation. I can't imagine the pain and suffering your parents experienced. That sonofabitch Nixon (and LBJ before him) robbed America a slice of its future by sacrificing so many innocent American lives in a war America should never have involved itself in the first place.

War is justified when our freedom and our lives are at peril. The last time America fought a war under those conditions was WWII. Stories like those shared by your mother are commonplace for anyone whose family lived in Europe between 1938-1945. My father tells similar stories from his childhood about the Nazis while growing up in Greece - how the Nazis ransacked people's homes in the middle of the night, rounded up all the men, lined them up in the town squares, and executed them on the spot. My father also fondly tells stories of how America saved them from starvation - Red Cross and the US Army providing powdered milk and whatever they could to widows with starving children. I very possibly wouldn't be here today if not for America during WWII. To hear my father tell the story, his family would have starved to death otherwise.

Unfortunately, every war since WWII was not a war fought to maintain our lives or our freedom, but to make money for those who led us into those wars in the first place. As much as we loathe the Taliban and their involvement in 9-11, we also need to remember that they were funded and armed by our very own government, just like Saddam Hussein was before them.

We expect our leaders to look out for our best interests and protect us. Unfortunately, that dream died on November 22, 1963 and we've become sacrificial lambs led to slaughter ever since. The sooner we can wake up to this reality, the better off we'll be.
