Did I actually agree with a BBB post? It's not even about politics at this point, it's about money and turning a tragedy into a 24-hour, inexpensive time-filling, newsathon with the pretense that all these journalists actually care (some do, but many have no problem shoving a microphone into a grieving mother's face)...

I know, I just had to agree with him twice - about the vulture journalism (on all sides) and the 6-year old (another child who shouldn't have been at a midnight movie in the first fucking place).

They didn't trust concentrating the power in one area. Also, they gave more power to the people. I'm amazed at how well their system balances and checks itself. It's taken a long time for people to ruin it and even if the executive, judicial, and legislative branches are totally corrupt, the states still can have a constitutional convention and fix it.

I think that is where we are heading a constitutional convention while the corrupt people in power are trying to stir the pot by playing one side off the other and start more wars. I think that is what this whole Iran business is about. They want a big war and people fixated on that instead of being fixated on getting the corrupt scumbags out of office. I see it as a failed government and banking system trying to stay in power.

Exactly. It gives them something they can construe as high moral ground to stand on. Just like the left cries racism if you criticise them, if you criticise the right they tell you that you are not patriotic. It is the same playbook with a few key words switched out.

True, but a vest prevents you from getting the absolute shit blown out of you like a motorcycle helmet keeps your head attached to your body. I think he was playing dress up, but knew that it couldn't end good for him.
