You can't stop a person from building a business just because they have different values than whomever. Emanuel and the city of Chicago will have a huge lawsuit on their hands and they will lose miserably. Now once the Chick-fil-A opens, every gay/lesbian has the right to not spend their money in that business and every person who doesn't give a fuck can become a repeat patron to it.

it's a terrible fast food chain. they don't have great food. the president doesn't believe in same sex marriage, so the pro samesex marriage people are boycotting his buildings.

I tend to agree with that... I don't think they can be prevented from opening new locations - but I think if/when they open this and other new locations, their business is going to take a dip because of all the negative publicity and the "we're arrogant bigots" image they've crafted for themselves.
