It took Obama and Hillary quite awhile to condemn these attacks. The embassy itself was quick to defend "the feelings of Muslims" when the clip itself was shown on TV.

Yeah, because secretly they approved of the attacks and condemnations of terrorist groups are really meaningful and gainful...

One can almost envision a huge group of Southern Baptists storming the Libyan and Egyptian embassies in the US wearing KKK table-clothes and replacing their flag with the Confederate flag...

Sam Bacile, Anti-Islam Filmmaker, In Hiding After Protests

AP | By SHAYA TAYEFE MOHAJER Posted: 09/12/2012 12:29 am Updated: 09/12/2012 10:25 am

LOS ANGELES (AP) — An Israeli filmmaker based in California went into hiding after a YouTube trailer of his movie attacking Islam's prophet Muhammad sparked angry assaults by ultra-conservative Muslims on U.S. missions in Egypt and Libya. The U.S. ambassador to Libya and three American members of his staff were killed.

Speaking by phone Tuesday from an undisclosed location, writer and director Sam Bacile remained defiant, saying Islam is a cancer and that the 56-year-old intended his film to be a provocative political statement condemning the religion.

Protesters angered over Bacile's film opened fire on and burned down the U.S. consulate in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi. Libyan officials said Wednesday that Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed Tuesday night when he and a group of embassy employees went to the consulate to try to evacuate staff as the building came under attack by a mob firing machine guns and rocket propelled grenades.

In Egypt, protesters scaled the walls of the U.S. embassy in Cairo and replaced an American flag with an Islamic banner.

"This is a political movie," said Bacile. "The U.S. lost a lot of money and a lot of people in wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, but we're fighting with ideas."

Bacile, a California real estate developer who identifies himself as an Israeli Jew, said he believes the movie will help his native land by exposing Islam's flaws to the world.

"Islam is a cancer, period," he said repeatedly, his solemn voice thickly accented.

The two-hour movie, "Innocence of Muslims," cost $5 million to make and was financed with the help of more than 100 Jewish donors, said Bacile, who wrote and directed it.

The film claims Muhammad was a fraud. The14-minute trailer of the movie that reportedly set off the protests, posted on the website YouTube in an original English version and another dubbed into Egyptian Arabic, shows an amateur cast performing a wooden dialogue of insults disguised as revelations about Muhammad, whose obedient followers are presented as a cadre of goons.

It depicts Muhammad as a feckless philanderer who approved of child sexual abuse, among other overtly insulting claims that have caused outrage.

Muslims find it offensive to depict Muhammad in any manner, let alone insult the prophet. A Danish newspaper's 2005 publication of 12 caricatures of the prophet triggered riots in many Muslim countries.

Though Bacile was apologetic about the American who was killed as a result of the outrage over his film, he blamed lax embassy security and the perpetrators of the violence.

"I feel the security system (at the embassies) is no good," said Bacile. "America should do something to change it."

A consultant on the film, Steve Klein, said the filmmaker is concerned for family members who live in Egypt. Bacile declined to confirm.

Klein said he vowed to help Bacile make the movie but warned him that "you're going to be the next Theo van Gogh." Van Gogh was a Dutch filmmaker killed by a Muslim extremist in 2004 after making a film that was perceived as insulting to Islam.

"We went into this knowing this was probably going to happen," Klein said.

Bacile's film was dubbed into Egyptian Arabic by someone he doesn't know, but he speaks enough Arabic to confirm that the translation is accurate. It was made in three months in the summer of 2011, with 59 actors and about 45 people behind the camera.

The full film has been shown once, to a mostly empty theater in Hollywood earlier this year, said Bacile.

So much for the Arab Spring. The situation is worse now as I predicted. People need to get it through their thick heads there is no political solution to the middle east. We can't solve their problems only they can solve them for themselves.

It's time to become energy independent, get the hell out of there and focus on the home front. We are a broke country falling apart and we no longer can afford to be the policeman of the world.

It's time to tell the people who make money off of war and oil to fuck off or send them off to fight in the wars they start and make money off of. I'm glad to hear Dick Cheney has a new functioning heart. Now we can send him over to the middle east to clear some mine fields with a fork.

As far as I'm concerned, these two assholes Bacile and Klein (and anyone else who "invested" in this project) are just as responsible for this murder as the bastards who committed it. And you know Daniel "Crack" Pipes the genocidal hate propagandist is mixed up in this shit, just like he was the Danish cartoons.

By the way, I watched the 13 minute trailer from this godawful movie, and it's fucking horrible. I was disgusted by it, and I'm not even Muslim. Mostly because it's just fucking horrible film making.

I mean "The Life of Brian" was fairly blasphemous, but at least it was FUNNY.

And no, I'm not posting that video here, or linking to it, given the shitstorm that GAyR brought upon this website a couple years ago. You can find it yourself, if you want.....

My question is how did these people get into our embassy? Who let them in? There is a lot we don't know about this. To be honest, I have no respect for a religion that kills people over a cartoon or a low budget movie. Almost every major religion in the world gets made fun of and slandered. Most of them don't kill people because they didn't like what someone said about their beliefs. We try and smooth it over with all sorts of political correctness but at the end of the day, they are demanding special treatment or we will kill you. Honestly. How can you trust people like this?

Yeah but killing people who had nothing to do with it just because they come from the same country is far far worse than hurting someone's feelings. Hey I grew I Mormon and put up with a lot of shit for it. I constantly heard the jokes and the snide remarks. If I was a Muslim I guess I could have killed all the assholes who said derogatory stuff to me.

Everyone puts up with some shit. They don't like your family, they don't like what color you are, they don't like your religion or political ideology. Whatever. Most people blow it off and go on through life. Some people have a tizzy fit and kill people. In the middle east it's a lot of people who have a tizzy fit because their leaders hyped them up. Frankly the middle east is the part of the world that never grew up. Too many people there act like a disgruntled two year old. They have never had the freedom to think for themselves because they always have been under someone's thumb. That's why the place always needs a dictator in power to keep it together. It's not the dictators, it's the attitude of elements of the larger population.

Anyways. Either this stuff just happens or someone lets it happen or makes it happen to play into an agenda. Either to make money or grab some power. 9/11 showed me how low people are in this regard.

There is no political solution. All we can do is distance ourselves from it and wish them well.

No, they absolutely shouldn't have killed the ambassador or anyone else there. They should have killed Bacile, Klein, and "Crack" Pipes. Maybe Thomocarrot and Sockfucker, just for the Hell of it.

This action was pretty much the equivalent of angry mobs on that other Sept 11 (and the days following) who committed random acts of violence on anybody who appeared "islamic" in the US, including Sikhs, who aren't Muslim at all, but were targeted because they wear turbans.

Totally agree there's a segment of Islamic faithful that are BEYOND hyper-sensitive and should be shamed (and have their asses kicked) for their zealous intolerance and violent actions. ALL religions should be regularly critiqued - it comes with the territory and should be expected, not met with violence. I mean, some experts believe they found Jesus' family burial plot and there weren't riots in the streets.

Bottom line, you believe some crap that can't be supported with facts, you should expect some ridicule...and if your faith is so weak you can't handle it (or even debate it) you're screwed.
