Was just reading an article on new tax proposal bills popping up in several states proposing "sin taxes" on guns and ammo.
I think that's a great idea!!
Especially ammo and high capacity magazines.
Forget gun control measures... throw a $2.00 per bullet tax on every stinking round. That way every American who wants to own a weapon can... no matter the style within current restrictions for automatic weapons. Of course increase the sales tax on all weapons but really stick it to ammo.
Doesn't inhibit hunters... it only takes 1-2 well placed rounds to drop a deer or duck.
This way the 2nd Amendment stands without any issues. It doesn't provide for any relief for the expense of weapon ownership. Which is fine. Taxing the hell out of it... limits to a certain degree idiots and the amount of damage they can do. Plus it generates much needed tax revenue on non-essential consumer goods."If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”Comment

Why should the mass majority of people who use a product be punished for a small minority who abuse it? This is all about some crooked politicians who's shenanigans are coming to roost and they fear the public. That's all this gun control business is all about. Crooks wanting to have the upper hand. The mass majority of gun owners are not criminals. Most the politicians are.
By the way Chris Rock is an idiot on political issues. He said the President of the United States is the boss. Sorry Chris. Read the Constitution some time. Apparently the British who seem to want us to disarm so badly have forgotten about this.
Meanwhile, the NRA continued its commitment to training, education and marksmanship. During World War II, the association offered its ranges to the government, developed training materials, encouraged members to serve as plant and home guard members and developed training materials for industrial security. NRA members even reloaded ammunition for those guarding war plants. Incidentally, the NRA's call to help arm Britain in 1940 resulted in the collection of more than 7,000 firearms for Britain's defense against potential invasion by Germany (Britain had virtually disarmed itself with a series of gun control laws enacted between World War I and World War II).
World War II
After the fall of France and the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940, Britain found itself short of arms for island defense. The Home Guard was forced to drill with canes, umbrellas, spears, pikes, and clubs. When citizens could find a gun, it was generally a sporting shotgun Ð ill suited for military use because of its short range and bulky ammunition.
Prime Minister Winston Churchill inspecting a No. 4 Enfield which the British adopted after Dunkirk, because the rifle could be mass produced.
British government advertisements in American newspapers and in magazines such as The American Rifleman begged Americans to "Send A Gun to Defend a British HomeÐBritish civilians, faced with threat of invasion. desperately need arms for the defense of their homes." The ads pleaded for "Pistols, Rifles, Revolvers, Shotguns and Binoculars from American civilians who wish to answer the call and aid in defense of British homes."
Pro-Allied organizations in the United States collected weapons; the National Rifle Association shipped 7,000 guns to Britain. Britain also purchased surplus World War I Enfield rifles from America's Department of War.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

But as time goes on and the more I see and read of the massive amounts of weapons and especially ammunition being sold at record levels never seen even during war time... that's starting to get to the verge of something quite worth being concerned over.
I just look at it from a common sense perspective... for every 1 gun owner who properly locks up and stores his/her weapons and ammo responsibly... there's probably 4 more that just have all that firepower sitting unsecured in a closet or drawer in their home. This opens up a huge risk factor... not just for theft but for a whole lot of fire-power that can make it into the hands of an unstable teenager or adult or child for that matter.
If the recent huge surge were just hunters or recreational target shooters supporting their hobby/sport that would be fine... but mostly what I've seen, read and heard about is a lot of people who wouldn't be making weapons and ammo investment under normal circumstances are now building up huge surplus supplies just because they are paranoid big bad government is going to take it away... or more accurately... media is stirring up noise leading people to believe there's something to fear when nothing significant has been put on the books and stood up to judicial scrutiny...
That's not "normal" gun market dynamics that are going on now."If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”Comment

Medical Examiner Snubs Official Request for Adam Lanza Toxicology Report
CCHR
While state and federal lawmakers frantically push for massive mental health reform and sweeping gun control laws, two Connecticut mothers recently took to the streets of Newtown, connecting with local residents and gathering signatures on a petition that asks a simple but essential question—did prescription psychiatric drugs play a role in the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting?
Seems like an easy and obvious question that, remarkably, has escaped the consideration of legislators who seem hell-bent on legislating increased mental health services without first having all the necessary information to make thoughtful, fact-based decisions.
Sheila Matthews, co-founder of AbleChild, a national parents’ rights organization, and Newtown resident, Patricia Sabato, went one-on-one with local residents to collect hundreds of signatures requesting the release of the complete autopsy/toxicology results and medical/psychiatric records of alleged shooter, Adam Lanza.
To back up the need for full disclosure of Lanza’s records, the petition points out certain undisputed facts, such as, at least 31 school shootings and/or school-related acts of violence have been committed by those taking or withdrawing from psychiatric drugs resulting in 162 wounded and 72 killed.
The Petition further points out that 22 international drug regulatory warnings have been issued on psychiatric drugs causing violent behavior, including mania, psychosis and homicidal ideation. Additionally, between 2004-2011, there were nearly 13,000 reports to the FDA’s MedWatch system of psychiatric drugs causing violent side effects, including homicide, mania and aggressive behavior.
Both Matthews and Sabato were gratified by the community’s support. “The vast majority of the people were really supportive of our efforts,” says Matthews. “They were really engaged,” continued Matthews, “and they wanted, and felt like, they had a right to know if Lanza was on drugs.”
Sabato mimics Matthews’ sentiments. “A lot of people,” says Sabato, “actually congratulated us for doing the petition.” “The people of Newtown,” explains Sabato, “know there is more to this story and, though they are tired of hearing Lanza’s name, they still want to know everything that may have played a part in his actions.”
The mothers sent the petition to lawmakers and hand-delivered a letter to the State’s Medical Examiner, H. Wayne Carver II, M.D., requesting that Lanza’s autopsy/toxicology and medical/psychiatric history be publicly released. The request literally cites two full pages of federal and state law supporting the request.
Despite the fact that, under Connecticut law, Carver is statutorily required to respond to the request, to date, the Medical Examiner has refused to even acknowledge receipt of the request, let alone release the requested information.
Certainly there are a number of questions that come to mind as to why the Coroner would refuse to release the information, but interfering with the on-going criminal investigation is not one of them.
In fact, Carver already has released selective information about Lanza’s autopsy, which begs the question – what is in the autopsy that obviously has put the Medical Examiner on the wrong side of Connecticut law and the wishes of Newtown residents?
In the end, it’s a simple question posed by those who lived through the nightmare. Was Adam Lanza on or withdrawing from psychiatric drugs at the time of the shooting? The information is available. What’s the secret?

Well, of course this is an obvious attempt to cover up the fact that the CIA programmed Lanza to shoot up the school and take our guns using mind control technologies from Big Pharma poisons! I mean, everyone should have the right to review confidential medical information from autopsies despite several laws against such disclosures! That doing nothing with your life but listening to InfoWhores and spamming shit here like their mirror is doing wonders for you ElpenIS...Comment
