Not in my view Nick. The national firearms act of 1934 as well as the Federal frearms act of 1938 were written in an attempt to take guns out of the hands of "criminals" and address the proliferation of "gangster weapons" at the time.
I believe that the end game today is to systematically disarm "everybody". I know they won't be able to do it. I may be wrong but that's what I believe now.

I have lots of friends who shoot and have gone with them in the past so I do have a little experience. Gun operating and gun safety are reasonable and worthwhile skills to know and If I ever wanted to get one, now is the time.

But again, ask yourself: HOW is the government going to get "everybody" to give up (and I'm going to print the number large this time because it doesn't seem to be sinking in with anyone -) 300 MILLION GUNS???
Even from a purely logistical standpoint it's impossible. Where's the manpower going to come from? Who's going to pay for it? The cat's out of the bag, genie's out of the bottle, whatever analogy you prefer, but the idea that the Feds will try to disarm the entire country is recockuless. They'll likely ban full-on military-style assault weapons again, and no rational civilian should have a problem with that.


You don't see anyone bitching about the models Glock manufactures that are ONLY sold to the military and law enforcement - those should be added to the list.

Years ago, my family were almost the victims of a home invasion. The only thing that stopped the thug from coming through the window was the sound of a shotgun being cocked. When people say that we need a full blanket gun ban, I have to roll my eyes, really fucking hard.
