Seriously...that's all just buzzing...what they said, not u nick...

I hunt, I shoot, I like new guns...to be honest, and protect my weapons, and my kids from them.

Don't need the media or the NRA telling me what I already know is necessary or unnecessary...

But I've always innately mistrusted folks that use the media, then say the media is manipulative.

On rare occasions. Most people just call the police, especially with the advent of cell phones for everyone. But I have no problem with responsible, sane law abiding gun owners who've had background checks and don't have crazy fucks in their house.

But I'd be willing to wager that for every burglar that was shot defensively by a homeowner, or even was driven off - there was a child killed or injured in a home containing a gun they found and were playing with. I'd love to see the statistical comparison on that...

Yeah...it's hard to see why laws are never made that mean anything.

But I'm gonna take your own argument and twist it around: You know how many people are on medications and most of them will never commit a crime ;-)

After 9/11, what freedoms did we give up in the name of protecting us on airplanes? How many people do you think would choose to have airports go back to the way they were on 9/10 even if it meant taking a greater chance that something bad might happen?

Check out these posts I just found on a SSRI message board:

Hi, I'm taking zoloft and since week 4 i have had small visual hallucinations, especially in the dark. I probably think this is caused by the srri's since it says so on the side effects. What i want to know if anyone else had this with their srri's and if other srri's don't cause this hallucination. It's becoming quite irritating for me, it's making me exhaustive because it attracks my attention a lot and i can't concentrate enough to relevant stimuli.

                                Thx in advance.

Paxil was the first med I tried & along with mild hallucinations it got me high. The feeling reminded me very much of smoking pot so I just went back to my doc & said I need something else which is what I recommend. The highs were interesting but that's not what I got it for, I would just continue smoking if that's what I want

It does cause hallucinations, but they are listed under 'sometimes' ( i hope i translate this right. it means, between 1/100 and 1/1000 people). I'm not sure if other srri's cause it, but it's listed in zoloft, that i'm sure of.

It's pretty funny what i see, it's nothing bad at all, i feel stupid for saying it actually. I see the eyesocket of my bird (an agapornis, small perrot). I see a small shade of his red head, but mostly his eyes and it blinks a lot. It's not a mental picture, i'm seeing it before my eyes in the dark! It is as if i could' grab it! It's nothing scary, but it does attract my attention a lot and it's getting exhausting to see it every time for the past 2 weeks.

Funny (and amazing) how the mind is. Well, at least it picked your beloved pet to focus on and not something more sinister.

Anyway, thanks for elaborating on the hallucinations. Keep us updated. I'm curious as to whether or not they go away once you've switched medications.

I've talked to many people about the side effects of anxiety medications, especially SSRIs. I certainly experienced exactly what you describe - very strange hallucinations especially when my eyes were closed.

Other times while on SSRIs I would feel like I was watching my life, not really living it. Everything seemed so surreal and make believe. After trying close to 10 different meds, I gave up on medication because I hated how it made me feel, and even worse, it never prevented or stopped me from having panic attacks!
