Outside the US Obama is seen as a massive improvement on Bush and has really improved the perception of the US since the dark days of GW.

That's pretty much universal across the right and left in Europe at least, I'm not sure where the hatred comes from when he doesn't seem to have done anything radical or controversial at all and was more just a steady hand at the wheel kind of president. I guess it's Fox News/Shock DJs/Trump and so on...

And his foreign policy, sadly, isn't that much of an improvement over the Chimp, since the PNAC wars are still going. Hillary would be worse on both counts though.
