By implying that electing Kerry would lead to another terrorist attack, Cheney was also implying that any terrorist attacks before the election would, by default, be blamed on the BCE. So there's one possibility removed from the "October Surprise" grab bag.

They're up and down every day, most of them are Freeped, and they're rarely outside the "margin of error".

Aside from that, the ones that aren't internet based (which are entirely worthless) are based on the "likely voters", or the people who voted last time. And considering the 48.5 (Gore)/47.5 (Junior)/2(Nader) split from 2000, these numbers are hardly surprising.

However, what they DON'T take into account is anyone who skipped the last election.

I won't claim Kerry is their ideal candidate because he sure as fuck isn't mine. But like me, these people might just find 4 more years of a one party dictatorship to be more than this country can bear.

They don't sense an impending fascist rule by Dubya, because they know that the US Constitution would prohibit him from becoming the first King of the colonies since King George in 1776. And HOW did the US constitution prohibit that?

By setting up a system of checks and balances designed to ensure that all the power never ended up in the hands of one group of people.

However those checks and balances no longer exist. The Supreme Court chose this pResident and though the Congressional Black Congress did the right thing in trying to prevent it, not one Senator would stand up for them. And then a few months later, the majority of them voted for a bill which rendered half the bill of rights useless.

Where is the seperation of powers? Where are the checks and balances? Where is even a hint of critical thought from any politician in Washington DC.

Of the damn few with the balls to speak out, you give them names like "KKK Byrd" and "Baghdad Jim" never mind that these few are the only ones who are doing the goddamn jobs that their constituents elected them to do
