I just checked the CBSNews.com website and I don't see anything there resembling a "statement", other than an article which says (speaking in the third person of themselves) "CBS News continued to defend the legitimacy of its recent story about President Bush's Vietnam-era service in the Texas Air National Guard..."

Let's analyze who's ideology is flawed for a second...
Liberals embrace Socialism. An economic structure that's failed miserably with every single application. In fact, the kinds of things synonymous with Socialism are tyrannical dictators, oppressed people, starvation, and mass-graves. Yet all of these "brilliant" proponents are willing to ignore this fact to advance socialism anyway. All the while calling opponents "stupid" or "blind" rather than arguing the merits (or lack thereof) of Socialism. It's no wonder they're willing to ignore the absence of freedom of speech that all citizens living in Socialist societies share. I guess you "smart" ones would like nothing else than to outlaw opposition speech.
After all, yours is the party of "Political Correctness"...
Now Free Market proponents offer the benefits of such a system when arguing it's merits. Things like comparisons in living standards between, let's say the U.S. and Cuba. Comparisons in health care quality between, let's say the U.S. and Canada. Issues like GDPs and such. Tax rates between Free Market societys and Communist societies. And along with the Free Market mentality comes a healthy dose of "Stay the fuck out of our business" towards government intervention.
Conservatives also have no problem removing murderous dictators from power. Liberals? Well, you all used to be the party of human rights. I guess those days are over.
Wow Ashcroft, I'm so glad you returned. First of all, your smug attitude makes me ill. You know, you do a great job of framing your arguments, a "skill" which you obviously learned from your idols in Washington.
If you are addressing me, you should return with statements I made. I have no love for Socialism, nor does anyone with sense and access to a history book. But it sure is easy for you to argue against it from your perch on the far right. Ever here of moderation? Ever hear about making your own opinion about the world and various topics instead of parroting what you heard on the fucking radio this morning?
Nor am I a liberal about most things. Is it possible for there to be people who believe in fiscal conservatism, a mutli-lateral foreign policy, and the PRESIDENT AND HIS GOONS NOT LYING THROUGH THEIR FUCKING TEETH WITH EVERY STATEMENT THEY MAKE?
It's funny because I can see we agree on most topics, fundamentally. I started posting here after reading a discussion you engaged in regarding raising the minimum wage, something I do not agree with. The thing is that you are too blind or scared (I think for someone like you it's B) to see that your man is not doing what you want him to do, what you think he is doing, what he says he's doing, or even really doing anything at all!
I see you are in the military somehow, and I respect that... but I don't know what kind of real brains you use on the job. In my profession, we collect facts, judge them on their merits, and make a decision. We follow the money. We look for people who benefit from things. We don't believe the first bullshit line that comes down the pipe. And that's why I'm scared to death that this asshole is gonna get elected again and you're too busy debating fucking typewriter acquisitions from the 70s.
All of this would have been much more useful before your party endorsed our doom be nominating this asshole. I'd much rather vote for a decent republican who isn't trying to consolidate power and oil wealth than a Democrat. I just wish I could be a good little party member like ya'll. Seriously. BTW, Ford talks about how the polls are using bum demographics. I agree. I still think Kerry will win.

Love that pic! Hey, never said all U.S. policies end up being perfect. Remember hindsight is 20/20. Saddam was simply the lesser of two evils at one time (Iran being the bigger). At least one party's willing to correct mistakes, and keep murderous dictators at bay.
Anyway, I think old Teddy Roosevelt covered this sentiment here:
