If you are addressing me, you should return with statements I made. I have no love for Socialism, nor does anyone with sense and access to a history book. But it sure is easy for you to argue against it from your perch on the far right. Ever here of moderation? Ever hear about making your own opinion about the world and various topics instead of parroting what you heard on the fucking radio this morning?

Nor am I a liberal about most things. Is it possible for there to be people who believe in fiscal conservatism, a mutli-lateral foreign policy, and the PRESIDENT AND HIS GOONS NOT LYING THROUGH THEIR FUCKING TEETH WITH EVERY STATEMENT THEY MAKE?

It's funny because I can see we agree on most topics, fundamentally. I started posting here after reading a discussion you engaged in regarding raising the minimum wage, something I do not agree with. The thing is that you are too blind or scared (I think for someone like you it's B) to see that your man is not doing what you want him to do, what you think he is doing, what he says he's doing, or even really doing anything at all!

I see you are in the military somehow, and I respect that... but I don't know what kind of real brains you use on the job. In my profession, we collect facts, judge them on their merits, and make a decision. We follow the money. We look for people who benefit from things. We don't believe the first bullshit line that comes down the pipe. And that's why I'm scared to death that this asshole is gonna get elected again and you're too busy debating fucking typewriter acquisitions from the 70s.

All of this would have been much more useful before your party endorsed our doom be nominating this asshole. I'd much rather vote for a decent republican who isn't trying to consolidate power and oil wealth than a Democrat. I just wish I could be a good little party member like ya'll. Seriously. Elvis, you talk about optimism? Good for you. Have fun with it.

BTW, Ford talks about how the polls are using bum demographics. I agree. I still think Kerry will win.
Wow! And you're offended by my smugness??? I don't believe I've ever labeled everyone who disagrees with me as "idiots" or "blind"... Dude, seriously. Go back and re-read your posts. You epitomize liberal condescension. I mean, even when trying to sound non-confrontational you say things like "I'd like to meet some of you, you know, to see if you are intelligent but blind, or just plain stupid." Wow again! I'm sure the posters here can't wait to have that first beer with you! And then to talk about your education like no one else has ever stepped foot in a University! Newsflash fella: I teach at one. And I'm quite sure pretty much all regular posters have no less than a Bachelors. Not that it matters at all! And that's the point. You don't have to have a college education to be intelligent. In fact, most people graduate from college not knowing shit. Don't believe me? OK, what's the typical starting salary of fresh college grads? Yep, it's low. Right where it belongs. I've gotta tell you, I'll never hold my college education in the same regard as my life experiences. It doesn't hold a candle to the education I received since. So, lay off on the condescension a bit, and quit assuming you're the brightest mother fucker on the planet. It'll help get to the point of debate.

About that. The liberal ideology most certainly is lock-step with socialism. If you're not a fan of socialism, you're endorsing the wrong party. Period. If you chose to endorse the Democratic party, you're endorsing socialism de-facto. If you state you're no fan of socialism, you need to look long and hard at your party's recent candidate. You need to look long and hard at your party's leader in the House. You need to look long and hard at your party's leader in the Senate (and Daschle too!). In fact, you need to look long and hard at your entire party's national platform, to include the foreign leaders they embrace. Embracing crackpot theories about Republicans and/or President Bush only gives you an excuse to be lazy. Let's face it, it takes alot less intellect and ambition to jump on the conspiracy theory wagon than it takes to research such theories and make an educated opinion. Your entire party is being spoon fed unsubstantiated bullshit from people like Michael Moore. And you embrace it without question! It's amazing really! I mean, not even a precursory fact check. And yet you wonder why the Democrats are being fired en-masse?

Anyway, If you truly are against socialism, you're abandoning your civic duty to your country by embracing and empowering it's proponents. Instead of reading political entertainment columns from liberal-only tabloids about what Bush drank, snorted, or shit in 1973, do some real checking on party ideology and history. And while you're at it, read the Constitution. This is a good place to start

This morning on the news, CBS's official stance is that they still stand by the story, regardless of the fact that the person that supposedly would have typed them denies they are real.

          1. I'm certainly not the most feel-good poster here, but this place isn't exactly romper room so screw that. This is where I blow off steam at work. If I say something that personally offends you, that is not my intention.

          2. I've never mentioned my education, just my job. Big difference there dude so chuck out your little rant about the difference between education and intelligence. I am quite mindful of the distinction. The reason I enjoy this place is because it is obvious many regulars are intelligent. And my job is relevant here because it uses the same skills you need to see through Bush's bullshit. It's funny how you will actually quote me, then later chastise me for things I never said.

Although, one of my main points really is that you don't need to be very smart to understand what's going on. You just need to listen to more than the media conglomerates that are controlled by the same people they are protecting. Just follow the money and power. SIMPLE. You choose not to see, and I'll agree that life is probably much peachier that way.

          3. What I am against is lying, cheating and stealing. I am against the rule of the strong. I am against consolidation of power and the tearing down of seperation of power. I am against war and especially
          perpetual war.

It's not my fault that there isn't a sensible, logical party out there actually performing the task of gov't. Sure I'm 'anyone but Bush'. Is that so freakin' wrong? (disclaimer: following is an example only) The guys who tried to kill Hitler with the briefcase bomb probably weren't too excited to get 'Her Wagner' or whoever in office, they were anybody but Hitler!!! Because he was destroying there country.

In internet discussions like these, sometimes people project beliefs onto others. You are definitely projecting beliefs onto me that I don't have. I'm pissed off because our gov't is hi-jacked and people like you either can't believe anything but the official line, or they are complicit. It's as simple as that. That doesn't mean I think you are actually stupid.

And your obsession with Michael Moore is pathetic. Your press secretary had the gall to call the entire movie all lies before it was ever even screened! You all are just scared of the facts he uncovered that the media won't report on. Sure some of it is bullshit, it's a freakin' movie! It had to play to a mass audience. You want to tell me it's bullshit that the Bush's and the Saudis are in bed? How many fucking sources do you want? I'm busy, I can't embark on a fact finding mission to Riyadh right now.

Read the Consitution? Your man is dismantling it now as we speak!!!! The Patriot Act. Do you see the title of that? Being passed during the most "patriotic" period in our country in years?

I just can't believe he'd stake his rep on something that appears to have been so easily disproved.

LOL Bloom County ruled. Not to change the subject, but is anyone else getting the new Berkely Breathed strip featuring Opus and Bill the Cat in their Sunday comics? I keep thinking more old BC characters are coming too.

This proves that CBS and the other big networks (except for FOX) are clearly liberal and in the Democratic National Committee's back pocket.

You are 100% correct about FOX News not being liberal.

FOX wants to be more centrist than the rest.

Dan Rather is willing to ruin his credibility over false memos so that he can slam Bush. Pretty telling.

If FAUX is considered "centrist" then nobody can possibly argue against the slide into fascism any longer.

CNN's not even centrist anymore. They (at the orders of their AOL bosses) are trying to OutFAUX FAUX.

MSRNC fired the only liberal they had (Phil Donahue) and replaced him with a hate radio slimeball (Michael "savage" Weiner) whom they had to fire when he even embarrassed right wingers.

Eisner's reign of terror at ABC News is as bad as it is in Disney's movie divisions.

CBS has been the closest thing to reasonable news coverage in years. And it's far from perfect.

Coming from your ideological perspective, I can see how you would consider CNN as ever being "centrist".
