No doubt. I was prepared to just put people on ignore and go on should there have been an argument.

but what is the value of gold...besides as a thing of beauty? The real value of gold, is that placed on it by man.

god didn't intend for adam to sin. god placed adam and even in a perfect garden where they could have lived happily ever after. adam chose to sin, god gave us freedom of choice. just like you and i have the choice to sin or not, so did adam

heaven, an unmeasureable number of people, who all think, feel, act, and believe alike, with the sole (soul) purpose of worshiping one man (entity) that has caused (allowed) so much death, destruction, pain and sufferering, and hail that God as the almighty-and in return we are granted happiness?

god is always here... he just enjoys showing himself more when he is welcomed!
don't give up there! god is real and he's waiting for you to give him your all. don't question, just have faith and your questions will slowly be answered. and you can always make a big list of questions for him if you choose
i pray that you find what it is that you're looking for. i know i was once lost and confused then god changed that all around for me and i've never been happier since. i will pray for you

Denominations are a creation of man...

I personally am a member of a non-denominational church. I guess 90% are former catholics...

All of the different doctrines are creations of man, and although I believe their intentions are good and based on the bible and true faith, I feel it is better to leave it alone...

Our church is based on Jesus Christ. Nothing more, nothing less...

you had it correct, it is beautiful! next time you are out walking the streets or driving in your vehicle, imagine the streets being made out of gold and how beautiful that would be

Many argue that it is our doing and not his which is true. (The death and destruction)

It does put the heavenly father in a sort of abusive absentee father light though.

I guess the most ironic thing about it is the sheer death and destruction done in his name. The crusades being a prime example.

okay...therein lies my biggest problem with religion. Adam and Eve had everything they could possibly want, and no one but each other to share it with... and it didn't work. there one rule was to not eat from the tree of knowledge... yet in heaven, we will be granted knowledge, but we will never know everything? Free will? what is heaven if it is filled with people who do not on a daily basis decide to worship God, but a dictatorship?

beauty equates to vanity, which is a sin. What is more beautiful, streets that are paved with gold, or the natural landscape of trees, flowers, earth, sand, and all of our fathers gifts in their rainbow of colors?

It's in the eye of the beholder.
                          Meaningless, really.

again, religion isn't what it's all about. if you're looking for religion, i don't encourage christianity because it's about relationship
god doesn't want us to be dumb! he wants us to know things about him and be full of happiness! adam and eve ate from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. they were ashamed of being naked after they ate from that tree... he wants us to have knowledge but he also wanted us to not be ashame, to not be embarrassed of nakedness... i do believe there is a difference between the knowledge in heaven and the knowledge of good and evil
