Every couple of years, I take pictures of my guitars for the insurance company. I have detailed pics, that I keep on a CD in the safe...but I snapped a few generic pics. Not everything is here... I was shocked at how "nice" the guitars look in the pictures. I beat the hell out of these guitars...
My main ride...Gretsch 6120 Keith Scott. The new mayor in town. The back of this guitar has a subtle cream pinstripe against the mahogany back. Sweetness.
Another main ride...1960 CS Fender Strat. I love this guitar. I dig the matching headstock. The neck and middle are Lindy Fralin PU's. This guitar has had the shit beat out of it. It looks so clean in the picutre.
Bad ass ride...1951 CS Fender Nocaster. For a short time during 1951 Gretsch sued Fender for the use of the name Broadcaster, where Gretsch was using Broadkaster. So Fender cut the "Broadcaster" off the decal on the headstock and they were named the "Nocasters" before the name Telecaster stuck in 1952.
This was my main Strat through high school and college. I literally beat the shit out of this guitar. Most of the time I had 12 or 13 guage strings on it. The picture makes it look nice. However, it has more dings in it than Edward James Olmos's face... Lindy's in all three positions. Great fuckin' pick ups. A lot of milage on this baby.
Epiphone Emperor Regent...my first Jazz guitar. I played many sessions and in a few orchestras with this guitar in tow.
Gretsch 6120 Brian Setzer Sig. Another guitar that I beat the shit out of. This guitar and myself have been through hell and back. It plays so well...I have Petillo Frets in it, and TV Jones pickups.
Purple 6120 Brian Setzer Hot Rod. This was a guitar that I got super cheap. I have only played it a few times. I played it when I backed Robert Gordon, and during the Lead East car show. Other than that...it's been in the case. First $1000 takes it.
Ibanez JEM. Who said shred was dead? Guitars like these are always good for sessions. There's been 5 or 6 times where I get to a session and the artist wants a solo that's more "liquid" (as they say) than a Strat. I pull this sucka out of the car...and IT'S LIKE BUTTAH!!
Epiphone ES-295. The original, "Mayor Goldie Wilson." I wouldn't trade this bitch for the world. I have played many Gibsons......and almost bought a few. This 295 felt, and sounded, 10 times better than any Gibson I got my hands on. (Even that ellusive 3 PU 295....!!)
Peavey Wolfgang. I probably paid less for this than Eddie did. This is the top of the line model that I got dirt cheap. It's mint, and it plays wonderfully. All the rhtyhm tracks of the album I'm engineering now are on this guitar.
Another Wolfie...This was a closeout sale, as well. Great quilt on the top. The picture doesn't do this guitar justice. It's a Wolfie Special. Flat top, one knob. Very cool guitar.
Washburn Red Rocker guitar. It's signed by him. I dig Van Halen....but they never made a ice-cream-bar-shaped-guitar to meet Dave with. The Red Ruster will croak and this will go up in value.
Steinberger. [Alan Holdsworth]This guitar plays amazingly. I use it soley as my travel guitar when I go on vacation. [/Alan Holdsworth]
That's it for now... There's a bunch that weren't pictured that include a Van Halen Monsters of Rock limited edition Kramer, various Ibanez guitars, some Fenders, and who knows what pile of parts in my closet!!! hahaha...
My amps, which I don't have pictures of:
1961 Fender Bassman. Blonde tolex, oxblood grillcloth
1961 Ampeg J-12
1967 Silver Face Bassman
Other smaller no names...
*and a soon to be 1971 Marshall* I don't have the specs with me.
Recording gear:
A full mic cabinet, 20 or so mics
Focusrite, Avalon, and Mindprint preamps
Akai 5000 sampler
Digitech 2120 processor
Various Lexicon processors and reverbs
Various limiters, EQ's, samplers, drum modules, etc...
Roland 2480 with CD burner
Dynaudio nearfield monitors
Various keyboards (Triton 76 key studio, Alesis, Ensoniq, etc...)
Hope you enjoyed a little glimps at my mayhem....

sgv"I decided to name my new band DLR because when you say David Lee Roth people think of an individual, but when you say DLR you think of a band. Its just like when you say Edward Van Halen, people think of an individual, but when you say Van Halen, you think of…David Lee Roth, baby!"!Comment
