I have a little Fender Frontman practice amp. That thing has been dropped, dragged, abused by children and keeps going. I think it's a pretty well made box.

The only solid state Marshal amp I ever had was a Lead 12. Man I wissh I still had that amp. It was very well built and had a Celesian speaker in it.

The only Marshall product I ever had that I thought was shit was a little 9 Volt practice amp that looks like a mini half-stack. That thing sure didn't last long.

For the most part, I think Marshall stuff is good quality.
No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

I´d get a used tube combo and some effects for that money, if I were you.

Be a man and go down to Rock Block and get you a JTM45 or a 100watter. :D Quit dicking around with the toy amps.

I've owned marshalls to laney's and everything in-between

BUT....the best amp for the price

is an AMPEG REVERBROCKET R212 50watt all tube.

                Kicks Ass !!!

                Also, check out Harmony-Central.com

You can check ratings and prices for any amp that is out there !!!

I got a Marshall DSL 401 last year, it's a 40W Tube amp. I'm not gigging these days and I thought it should still be loud enough for a jam with live drums in an emergency.

Great warm sound but maybe a bit expensive.

Overdriven you don't really need a distortion pedal at least for an EVH sound and it doesn't have that 'buzzy' sound you get from a Valvestate.

I'm no expert about what's available these days though...

                      Cheers!

You'll find something that'll float your boat.....

If you are looking for cheap.. those vox valvetronix amps are nice.

I would just save up and get a nice tube amp... otherwise you will never be happy with your purchase..

Tech21's Trademark 60 combo wouldn't be such a bad purchase, either...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?
