As inexpensive as the Windsor is, just use a second amp. Channel switching isn't all it's cracked up to be because those little relay switches inside the amp have a nasty habbit of malfunctioning.

I tore into the Windsor and it's adjustable bias and Peavey even put a socket to plug your multimeter into next to the bias pot. It also automatically drains the filter caps everytime you turn the amp off.

The power amp and preamp are mounted on sepparate circuit boards. To be honest, I'm amazed at the quality for how cheap the amp is. I don't see why it wouldn't hold up for years because it seems almost as well built as a 5150 chassis and board quality wise.

I can walk u through it...

BTW, I'm gonna be selling one for exactly the same $200 I paid for it a month ago...

          It works perfect...

The only reason I'm selling it is because I was looking for one that is 100% cosmetically perfect as well as functioning correctly...

I bought one that almost looks brand new for $300 less than two weeks ago...

I was looking for a backup for my original that I bought new for $780 in 1990...

With the same tubes, all three sound virtually identical...

Let me know if you want it... I'm 100% honest and you can have it for $210 with shipping...

And it doesn't look bad, it just has some non-original screws and one incorrect knob on the rear panel...

          Let me know...

Damn, if you yankees didn´t have that whacky 110 V current I´d pull the trigger on that one.

Even though I´m still madly in love with my Digitech GSP 2101.

I'd run the MP1 into the GSP 2101 then into the front of your amp...

I'm assuming that's how you run the 2101 already...

I used to run my MP1 stereo or mono into a dual 10 band DBX EQ, then into a Peavey Ultraverb, then into two Marshall Super Leads...

Now I run my MP1 mono into a Behringer Bass V-Amp Pro (set like a clean plexi) in stereo, then I run one channel into an old Ibanez AD202 analog delay and run those two signals into two Hot Rod Deluxes...

I know that sounds like a lot of varibles, and it is, but my tone has never been better...

I also have various pedals and rack mount gear, mostly all vintage stuff that I experiment with in different parts of the chain...

One thing that's pretty cool: I have the Digitech Jimi Hendrix Artist pedal that I mess with in front of my signal, and that thing really sounds like what it says it does, although I find it to be way too buzzy just by itself with an amp...But by the time it goes through my signal chain, it's pretty warm sounding...

Chasing tone is a very expensive lifestyle...:D

No shit. There's always something else to buy. On my last move, I decided it got rediculouse because I don't use a lot of shit that I buy.

I've just decided if I have a good amp and a good guitar, hell I'm there! I use a few peddles for my Strat but my humbucking guitars are going straight into the amp most the time.

Don't overlook playing style and picks. I have a zillion different picks laying around. Right now I'm using those picks with the star cutout in them but I use Dava picks and sometimes a Dunlop Big Stubby.

I pick really fast and I need some texturing on the pick or it slips out of my hand on fast runs.

I've noticed different types of picks change the tone a the way you pick does too. I can make you think I have adjusted the amp just by changing my picking technique.

Sometimes less is more. I don't like big signal chains. They eat tone.

Same here. At the moment I've got three pedals (flanger, delay and EQ) goin' straight into the amp. A fourth one (compression, or a gate) in the loop.

Simple, and all I need at the moment...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?
