Well... Now that I've had it adjusted properly (the guy wondered who in hell could set the intonation so bad... T'was me... ) it is THE bomb!

Every other axe feels like I'm either holding a broomstick, or the strings are too stiff for my taste. (not to mention the difference between an oiled neck and a finished/laqcuered one.)
Smooth bends/vibrato all around.
Unamplified, when put your ear on the upper horn, it sounds like an acoustic. Nearly.
Amplified... DeMartini-like tone, to my ears. Nice emphasis on the low end.
Everyone who's heard this sucker in action, so far, have been amazed.


Although, in retrospect... Maybe I should've gone for the Medium C-shape neck... Fuck it, I'll just play more.

Finally ready to send mine off for paint...

Did the full "test-fit" assembly on my current build finally....now I have to resist the urge to wire it and fully set it up, but I can already tell it's going to kick ass (always loved the neck, and the frets are in decent shape) and that the Ti Big Block works with an Ash body too seemingly...thing sounds great and is LOUD acoustically...and also has the same kind of note-clarity thing my Koa Strat does with the Ti...

This'll be the first time I've direct-mounted the bridge pickup, too.



Think I'm gonna want to rout it a bit behind the block to allow for a little more upwards play...can only raise it a whole step...:eek: but otherwise it rules. But trying not to dirty it up too much before disassembling it and sending the body to RCA guitars (the Fair Warning guitar guy) for paint. Then I get to decide whether I wanna leave the ceramic mag in the TB-5 or if I like the Custom 8 better...

I think it would be a better idea to file behind the block with a flat rasp file, at an angle instead of a straight routing.

You have to think about how much meat you take away from the bridge screws.
