Been checking out the vids and the reviews of the show .... And I don't think we should let religious psychos , pricks who wanna sit down and all the other shit be the memory of this show ... This is van fuckin halen ... Dave was on top form the rest of the band were killing it .... And the shit eating grins that Dave and ed had For most of the show , especially in jump ... Am not a fan of the tune but those fellas were loving it up there and the look on Dave's face as he looked out across the fans over the empire he helped build is the memory we should have of the gnash gig .... I think the band are hitting form it used to be CVH it's now VFH !!!!

You gotta be kidding me. I would have told him 'dude we're at a fucking VAN HALEN concert. Stand up!' and then proceed to stand for the rest of the show. My thoughts on acceptable behavior at a rock concert are well established by now (rock the fuck out like there's no tomorrow), but the only time anyone should be sitting at a Van Halen show is when you're too intoxicated to stand up straight. Surprised this clown doesn't have a ringed Van Haggar VH tat on his bicep. Hope he didn't ruin the experience for you.Comment

Haha. Told my 75 year old Mom about the sniper tweet. "Oh boy, he doesn't know David Lee Roth fans, does he?"
She raised one, so she knows. I'll never forget her rolling her eyes when I was 16 while saying "oh, you should just become a professional groupie"."Ya know what they say about angels... An angel is a supernatural being or spirit, usually humanoid in form, found in various religions and mythologies. Plus Roth fan boards..."- ZahZoo April 2013Comment

Yep thats what I was thinking as I watched it. Ed's guitar is smoking this tour !! Almost hard to belive after 04 & the way he trailed of in 08. Dave's voice was made for Ed's guitar. What I noticed most is how easy Al makes it look at his age !! Wolf is rock solid.Comment

At the Charlotte show my seat was right next to the biggest, ugliest, meanest looking father-raper you've ever seen. The guy was humongous! And he sat thru the entire KATG set with a pair of earbuds crammed into his head - who knows what he was listening to. And all thru the VH show he never once stood up, never once took out the earbuds and had this look on his face like he was ready to kill everybody there - especially meI just don't get why anyone would spend good money to be miserable.
Spoke with my neighbor today.....he saw the Louisville show.....he felt the Nashville show was a bit "tired", and he was not exactly happy about the set list. True, they played approximately 1 hour, 50 minutes here in Gnashville, finishing at 10:50....they could easily have played at least 2 more songs and been done by 11 PM, but his general opinion is that they had the FIRE in Louisville, and he thinks they are getting tired....he still had fun, but he said the Louisville show they came out ready to kill everyone, and the Nashville show was not nearly as kickass. He still enjoyed himself, though. And he was convinced Uncle Dave had been drinking.
As for seats and standing....
My seat was at the end of the row......so I had an unobstructed view of the stage. And to be honest, I sat down through half the show. Not because I was not digging it, but for two other reasons. 1) I am not 20 anymore, and I stood for the first few songs going nuts, then decided to relax in my seat, and stood up for a bit several times more during the show, but spent some time sitting as well, and 2) there were people sitting behind me, they WERE sitting, and I wanted to give them some kind of view for at least part of the show, lol. No, nobody made any comments to me (gee I wonder why?) but I am really not all that invisible, and these people did pay some good money for their seats, so I had my fun, but while I was taking breaks from going nutso, I was letting the peeps behind me have a look as well, lol.
However, if someone sitting behind me wanted to act like a jackass, well....I can be a jackass too!
But in general, my height will obstruct the view of TWO rows behind me if they are both sitting down, so I tend to be polite. There are times I will tell people "Sorry my parents made me so tall.....I know you are trying to see through me or around me...." and by making such humorous apologetic statements, the reply is usually one like "Oh no, man, everything is fine, don't worry about it".
That is a way sometimes of heading off at the pass any bitching from people behind me.
Now when I am on the floor for General Admission shows, I have one distinct advantage aside from being able to see above everyone's head. Even when I am as close as I can get, and it is pretty packed in my general vicinity, people tend to NOT want to stand behind me, lol. So even if I have people close to me in front and on the sides, I always have some elbow room in back!
Ah well. What the fuck. I got to see Van Halen, muffukaz!!!!Comment

Well, he may not have taken out the earbuds, and may have been giving people dirty looks because he was recording the show! I recall when I was into taping shows, it would irritate me when drunken idiots were around me destroying my recording, even though I knew that was the risk I had to take, lol.American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.

Kenny Chesney (who?) took his whole crew to the Van Halen show. That's pretty cool.
Also saw that Winona Judd and her peeps were there. My guess is that there were a lot of music industry folks at the show.sigpic" You ever notice when I scream I sound like Mr. Bill on acid" DLRComment

He's the guy that was married to actress Renee Zellweger for a couple of weeks, and was divorced when she discovered that he pitched for the other team. Not too coincidentally, he's yet another imbecile who thought it perfectly acceptable to rip-off Jimmy Buffett's career, image and lifestyle lock, stock and barrel and turn it toward his own questionable use.Last edited by chefcraig; 05-01-2012, 11:46 AM.

Downloaded some of the front row HD video tonight. Yeah, Uncle Dave was sweating like a mofo. No wonder he needed some roadie to mop the floor.Comment
