I wanted to say "do you SEE the shirt????" And I did want to ask him why the hell he spent 150 on tix to bitch the entire time. And SIT. I couldn't believe that.

      Oh dear.

To sum it up again The band was great but I did not feel that Crackling energy in the air like every other time I've seen VH. I do blame the crowd and the venue.
Fuck, I was tired and had a comfortable balcony seat. I stayed on my ass too.

I looked for shoes all over, at the dubliner, saw Momshell and introduced myself as she was being whisked by with the VIP group. I saw the DLR Army T shirt and recognized the neck Tattoo so I holla holla hollered at her.

You should have farted in his face while you were up and dancing and he was sitting.

That's exactly what they said about Dave in 1981,1984, 2002, etc. etc. Haters gonna hate.
I saw a couple nerdy dudes with Chickenfoot shirts in there. I restrained myself....

looked for you too - Dave's Pa Rental found me, and I was very glad. It's a shame, they actually had the Dubliner closed down because it was at capacity - and I had to do a lot of talking to get in. Didn't get there til about 6:30 PM . Very sorry I didn't see you.

              Oh dear.

I don't know, but I feel like I was at a completely different show than the rest of you. I thought the crowd was very respectable last night. This is a really small venue, with thousands less than MSG. I'm sorry, but how do you guys think that a crowd of 40-50-somethings is supposed to "represent"? There were PLENTY of people standing up cheering for the whole show. Especially during the "HEY! HEY! HEY!" of ATBL. I saw old, bald, fat dudes jumping up and down towards the end of the show. Of course it helped with my vibe that I was there with two of my three brothers, and also two of my old high school buddies. We had a great time at Dubliners before the show, and we really carried that party into the arena and up to our seats. Everyone experiences the world in their own way, and everyone can have their opinion...but jeeeez.

Now, I was very skeptical about how Dave's performance would be, based on the Youtube clips that I had seen from this tour so far. I actually agreed with Elvis and was critical based on Youtube clips. Understand this Elvis: It all makes perfect sense and is truly amazing when you see it live. I can't stress that enough. China Town was not a train wreck. There was a spot where it sounded like the BAND kind of screwed up. Maybe it was a different song, but I thought that I heard Alex and Wolfie kind of get off the groove for a measure or two.

I really felt like Dave and the band were really feeding off the crowd during WIL and GGB. I thought that it was a special few moments. Now maybe that was all in my head, but that's ok. I've never been as happy at a concert than I was last night. I was surrounded by family and friends, we were all there to experience VAN HALEN firing on all cylinders. To make it even better, I was able to share it live with many of you at this place. I really felt like alot of you were sitting right next to me. I've only actually met a few of you, but spending over 10 years interacting in text form, a certain sense of familiarity with strangers is possible.

It was the greatest concert I have ever been to. I'm sorry that not everyone feels the same.
Maybe this is what a heroine addict feels like after getting a long awaited fix, shooting up in the corner of some abandoned building and just not giving a fuck about what the rest of the world thinks...TATTOO"

I really think a lot had to do with the people around us. We had an older couple in front of us who were clearly comped and were fighting with each other instead of watching the show. They left early. Just in general I was the only one in my immediate area (aside from my hubby) who was singing, yelling, dancing, jumping. And I'm pretty sure if I wasn't coming from the garden show with my fave song ever (TFB), it woulda been the best show ever for me too. Still far surpassed the last tour for me. In the future, if I see VH at Mohegan, I think I'd be better off in non-VIP.

Sorry I couldn't stop to even say hi. They were seriously running us over for the sound check, and I was terrified of losing the group! Supposedly it wasn't planned but VH arrived at the venue later than expected so we couldn't do the tour. Our VIP nation guy talked to Eddie personally to arrange the soundcheck instead.
