Well they still know who Dave is (he was around last year), and if I remember right did a few Ad's for the VMA's the year before as well (the one's hosted by Justin Timberlake and Sean Scott William) Did anyone see the anger managment ad they all did? If you didn't it was hilarious

Damn man... Its not about looks. But I still bet Ed could look okay if he wore a shirt! They are not in their prime. Sorry fellas, this time around all of them would have to have a little bit more going for them than looks... but lucky for them, they have always had more than just looks! Its about how they would sound.

Would the welcome be as warm? No. But the response to the music put out at this point could be even better. They have more freedom now as no one really expects anything of substance from them. That does not mean it is not there, and that people will not absolutely love it IF if is produced!

On the music industry... well those bastards turned a blind eye to real "music" long ago and look what a mess they created. The industry took the music out and replaced it with trash... So I consider it either "the industry" or "the Trashed Industry"... Call a spade a spade...

Of what's left of the music "community" (musicians and some of the media)... I believe Edward is still held as rock royality when it comes to contribution to the scene... much like a Clapton, Beck, Page, Santana, Gibbons, Richards, BB King type of status. Certain folks would cheer him on just for the simple fact of the LEGACY and contributions to Rock's history... but definately not of his accomplishments/work of the last decade.

The legacy has not been forgotten... this place is a testiment to it all on it's own. For the original question... if Van Halen walked on stage together they would peg the VU needles in crowd response over Van Hagar without a doubt. Although the recognition would be definately for what WAS... not what IS... in the current state of affair with the band.

The music industry now really sucks no label is into legends there looking for future has beens to turn in a quick buck today. i read once in magazine joe elliot from def leppard said why should we spend all this money making a video if mtv will only play it once then put it on the shelf and play n sync instead. He then said the money they would have spent on video can be used for giveaways like t shirts and jackets and all sorts of promo items for the real fans. If classic vh walked out at the grammy`s britney better be with them or no one will give a fuck.

classic van halen will always be that. the greatest rock band of all times!!! if they re united it would be huge amongst us and only us. The music people are not going to hype it. It would have to be up to us to promote the band. i myself have turned on 10-12 new halen fans this year alone thru work ,friends people i know. I always make sure the car stereo is extra cranked when im stoped in front of a cafe or bar patio just so people turm their heads and say hay ho hey you who said that!!!!!!! he he for real people go hey man great tune who is that and i say with my biggest david lee grin its van fuckin halen man!!!!
