Sure it would be a great album; but two cover albums in a row! Death, I tell you.
    Same ole song and dance...

I don't think so in this case. It would be more of a tribute to classic blues. And it would kick ass if he did a duet with a female blues artist such as Etta James or Sugar Pie De Santo.

I think Dave's voice right now at this point in his life is perfectly suited for the blues! I know most everyone around here is wanting a hard rockin' album from him but his voice is changing a little with age. I can picture him singing the blues! It would be nice if he could come up with his own songs though instead of the covers! Like Northern Girl was saying, two cover albums in a row is the kiss of death!

He could probably come up with some good tunes on his own or maybe collaborate with Monty Byrom and/or David Nuhouser (sp?)

I really dig the idea of him banging out old school stuff though, like real old!

:D I agree! If he did a blues-themed album of ORIGINALS, that would kick major ass! Lord knows he's gone through enough shit (Van Halen) to come up with four or five albums worth.

If Dave hadn't done so many covers on Diamond Dave. Do you think he could have put out a blues only Tribute to the Legends kind of thing?

I wish he had done this before he did Diamond Dave.

:D Yes! "Diamond Dave" could've been a bonus disc for that type of release.

I just heard Sonny Boy Williamson doing "23 Hours Too Long" and think that Dave would do a great job with it.

You're both right. Written by Brett Tuggle, Monty Byrom, Jack White, Steve Hunter, Freebo

Dave put a little bluesy twist to some of his vocals Sunday night. I could definitely see this happening. Just not covers.

What if Dave rearranged some classic VH tunes into a blues style album. Do you think that would be possible?

Yes. I'm all for Dave continuing to branch out and all, but I want an all original hard rock album first(I'm a selfish motherfucker! :D ).
