Since the majority of VH1's 40 Most Awesomely Bad Metal Songs are from the 80's I think that says it all about 80's rock & 80's rock bands in general like Winger, Stryper, Warrant & Britney Fox which is they are all a bunch of CRAP of the lowest common denominator. The reason why rock legends Ronnie James Dio, Kiss & Van Halen were in the countdown is because of the mistakes they had made later in their music careers but Sabbath should have been there as well during their 84-92 period before the reunion.

I actually kinda liked "The Final Countdown", truth be told Not only that, but I have a SHITLOAD of respect for John Norum as a guitarist...

There are so many awesomely bad metal songs it'd be REALLY hard to pick among them...Iron Maiden's meltdown in the 90s, Warrant, Winger, Kiss, Poison, Slaughter, Trixter, fuck, the list goes on forever...

Sh*t, I kinda did at the time myself... it sort of had that Asia feel to it from that era.

Sounds hopelessly dated now, however. Just like the whole damn hagar catalogue.

Since it is confession day, I dug this ditty from Styx back in its time too-

            *******

When I think of Lorelei my head turns all around
As gentle as a butterfly she moves without a sound
I call her on the telephone, she says be there by eight
Tonight's the night she's moving in and I can hardly wait

            The way she moves, ooh-ooh
            I gotta say
            Lorelei let's live together
            Brighter than the stars forever
            Lorelei let's live together
            Brighter than the stars forever

Her eyes become of Paradise, she softly speaks my name
She brightens every lonely night, no one's quite the same
She calls me on the telephone, she says be there by eight
Tonight's the night she's moving in, it's time to celebrate

            The way she moves, ooh-ooh

Careful what ye say about Stryper, My son, for they are My servants. (Though I really thought "Honestly" was kinda lightweight Myself)

forgive me...but I guess even for the almighty it's sometimes hard to get good workers...these servants were lousy...and sounded like the distortion-version of abba...

I can understand you saying that but it was a kinda catchy riff...

"When the children cry" is a million times worse.

When I was kidding James Lomenzo about it he said it was entirely Mike Tramp's idea/fault...

                          Cheers!

Stryper were phonies. Their whoring and drug use is well documented.

One former member said their Christian image was a gimmick to set themselves apart from the other interchangable hairbands of the time.

The Final Countdown I didn't dig that much, but the worst ever? Naw. John Norum fuckin RULES, though!! I'd like Winger much more if all their tunes had no vocals on them... Reb BEach and Rod Morgenstein kick ass!!
