Has Eddie ever complimented Dave?

I haven't read thru all of the posted replies so this may have been covered already. The answer is yes. I have several Guitar Mags with interviews of Eddie. I can't remember exact quotes but they go something like: Dave is a very creative guy, He has a unique voice, He gets an idea and knows exactly what he wants (musically speaking). On the Van Halen The Early Years DVD even Alex makes a comment: " You gotta hand it to him, the guy was really unique...he had a certain confidence...that was good I felt. He wore clothes that you and I would never wear".

In comparison to the amount of times Dave raved about Eddie, Ed had few compliments for Dave press-wise when they were in the band together. Ed did say at one point that he barely knew any of the lyrics to the classic tunes, and then went on to comment that some of the stuff Dave did with the music Eddie handed him totally blew Eddie away. Since I guess Ed couldn't have been referring to what Dave did lyrically with the music Ed handed him (since Ed didn't know the lyrics), maybe he was referring to musical arrangements.

I actually remember that. Dave was asked about it in a later interview and he said something to effect that Eddie was exaggerating.
