what is the reasoning for the hatred Joe has for Ed? Just "guitar rivalry"?

I wouldn't be surprised if Eddie either was rude to him at some public event or (even more likely) badmouthed his playing in some article. I've read Eddie badmouth Randy Rhoads' playing, Blackmore's playing, Jimmy Page's playing, Jimi Hendrix's playing, and others. God, Eddie is such a fucking prick. And he's fooling himself if he really thinks he's the best guitar player in history.

There has been a Van Halen/Aerosmith rivalry since early on.

It's in Dave's book.

I have to say I never read Ed bad mouthing Page, he

idolized the guy!
