    Hi Steve...

Look, it's like this....it's not a good idea to piss of someone when you're trying to get them to see your point of view. You catch more flies with honey than you do vinegar. However, in the case of Eddie-Boy...this debate has gone on long enough that he knows what the fans want...and chooses to ignore us. To this day, he refuses to address the issue directly. Why should we show him any respect when he refuses to respect us. We're the ones that put him where he is. Everything he has, he got from us...yet, our opinion doesn't count.

I didn't mean for this thread to turn into a slam fest against you..I like you...I just don't agree that kissin' Eddie-Boy's ass will get us what we want.

I was a minor fan of Sammy's before he joined VH. He was always a B act, but a fun-loving one and still is. However, only about one in ten of his songs stands up to more than about ten listens. Classic, DLR VH still blows me away after years of listens. VH with Sammy sounds a hell of lot more like Montrose or VOA. It's really just Sammy with one hell of a backup band. They're totally Sammy-fied.

I've gotten to where on my iPod, I don't even categorize the few good Sammy VH songs (e.g., Finish What You Started, 5150, etc.) under VH. Only classic VH goes there. I list Sammy VH under "Hagar, Sammy." When I listen to the 20+ Sammy songs I keep from the last 34 years, the VH songs blend in perfectly with the rest of his work. They stick out like sore fucking thumbs with classic VH.

New Van Hagar is really just more of the Red Rocker. It's not VH at all.

Now I must download some boots.

What are you talking about ??

Hagar could fuck up a song as simple as "The Alphabet Song."

              Hi Pat.
I guess with the flies with honey case, Eddie can be an exception. I just started this because I checked the main looking for some good Dave threads and all I saw was Sammy this and Sammy that. Though they were bashing Sammy, I thought I found a Sammy site, LOL.

Anyways, I wouldn't say it's just the fans that put Eddie where he is... err was. It's Dave that put him where Ed is.
Or it's a chain. Dave made made us fans what we are and we put Eddie where he is.
A chain... unchained... sorry, just woke up... can't think straight. :D
