Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

        There's an old saying:

        'You can't polish a turd"

        They didn't bother trying.

Someone did however, study the success of marketing cow manure, guano, etc. and they just put the shit on tour.

The past nine years Eddie has degenerated so bad, he lost his health, his looks, his wife of 23 years, and a lot of his talent. I think Ed will continue to go downhill. For a man who just had a big cancer scare, he sure doesn't seem to give a shit. If Eddie doesn't care about himself or even his own family to clean up, why is he going to care about his band or fans?

If it hasn't happened already it's not going to happen.
I have to agree with you.

You make a very excellent point. If Ed doesn't care about himself, then why would he suddenly care about his fans?

Further more, Ed better hurry the fakk up because time is not on his side.

                Who is Sammy Hagar?
David Lee Roth says that Sammy Hagar is a bridge drone troll. I think he is a complete whiney bitch who is deathly afraid of the success that Classic Van Halen had that he could never live up to. Bluntly put he is just an old angry man who lives in a delusional fantasy world in which Van Hagar sold 20 million more albums than Classic Van Halen. Every time he talks he utters nothing but lies and sounds like a sack of assholes. Sarge told me that Bette Midler and Sammy Hagar are the same person. For a laugh please ask me who Bette Midler is. Thanks for your time. ..
"I decided to name my new band DLR because when you say David Lee Roth people think of an individual, but when you say DLR you think of a band. Its just like when you say Edward Van Halen, people think of an individual, but when you say Van Halen, you think of…David Lee Roth, baby!"!

Touring this Summer has been slow. And in today's time, rock and roll bands do not have so many people see the shows in stadium and arenas. TODAY'S GROUPS THAT SELL MILLION TIMES COPIES DON'T SELL OUT SHOWS. A band can have 10 top 10 songs, sell 1 million copies and they stay have to play a House of Blues. So, for Van Halen to play arenas is incredible because they didn't have a current album. Plus, this band has been inactive and their last tour was in 1998 with Gary.

Over six years of not touring + No new album + No promotions + no hit single AND THIS BAND WAS STILL ABLE TO SELL OUT SOME SHOWS! Hey suckers! Take off your DLR color glasses and see things fairly. Give Sam and the band credit.

BULLSHIT! Did Van Hagar's tour receive any less 'promotion" than U2's upcoming tour? HELL NO! The tour was a major disappointment, they had the backing of Clear Channel which owns a substantial number of radio stations. The tour fiasco was just one of a number of major blunders Cunt Channel has made, including buying radio stations at inflated prices!

Their stock is doing a TITANIC impression "Right Now." The next time you see a Van Hagar nostalgia tour, it will be as an opener for another major act or at your local fairgrounds.

Do I get a discount if I buy the All Day pass?

If so, I might go and collect some horse shit for later on when they take the stage

The Eagles are playing an arena show in my town tomorrow. No record in who knows how long, and they sold out in a day.

If the audience wants to see an act, they'll go regardless of new material. Ask Madonna, or Cher, or Springsteen (who did a sold out stadium tour before recording a new record).

[i] i saw motley crue last saturday at the boston fleet center which holds 10,000 more people than the worcester centrum and it was sold out. in the month of march, 25 degrees outside the place was packed. van hagar toured in the summer when everyone wants to see rock shows. YOU TELLIN ME OR ANYBODY THAT VH WITH DAVE WOULDNT SELL OUT TWO SHOWS AT THE CENTRUM OR ONE AT THE FLEET CENTER, EITHER YOU ARE A LIAR OR SEVERELY LACKING ANY CLUE. [/B]

Didn't Motley just add another leg due to the huge success of the tour. Imagine that, give the fans what they want and the $$$$'s follow!

                            That is the bottom line.

That will be Eddie Van Halen's legacy.

Ed will die before Alex will agree to a VH reunion.

Can't see a reunion happening this year as it was discussed on this site that Ed is doing a solo LP with Alex in tow.
Using lots of guest singers etc (Think Santana)
Then if that flies out of the box they will then tour on it.

I think that's pretty fucking sad and one of the reasons that I could never do the 'hero worship thing' with any of them.

                                I include Roth in this.

Isn't it sad that with many of these people that when they get less successful they get more up their own asses and view their crew as being beneath them or at fault for their lessening star status.

It should be the exact opposite.
