Here's the problem with rock right now. Everyone discovered they could do Drop D tuning and never use more than one finger. Guess what, my five year old daughter plays pretty good on my LP when I go drop D. Nobody goes past the fifth fret either.

By the way...where's the song? Does it say antyhing? Is there a message to be heard? besides I'm pissed off or I'm depressed?

Everything is too precision. The best songs of the 80s (VH, Crue, AC/DC) they all sounded like they were spiraling out of control to the end, until they brought it back in. Nobody here has heard of a tempo change...or a key change...everything is in D or G, unless they own a baritone guitar, then its in C#.

A song should be like an orgasm...the closer you get to the ending the closer you get to the crash...
Another thing about Zakk and BLS is that they are putting out a CD a year, another throwback to the old days. Certainly something else that kills any new Hard Rock band today is the instant push to be a huge sensation. First CD release, every song produced to be a mega-hit, 1-2 years touring, lots of stress and a future of lost creativity. Zakk does small tours to support his latest release and then he's back shredding in the studio. Look at how productive CVH was in the early days. More bands need to follow this formula and management companies need to look at the long term viability of the product. No more cookie cutter, fly-by-night rock superstars.

Although my like for this band varies from day to day I have high hopes for The Darkness. Party music and some guitar shredding going there. If I could only decide if I liked the lead singer's voice or not...

I would also like to point out that Spammy's leaching of VH's life-blood is example 101 of how the music biz hit the shits...

I have not and never will respect any fucking body who decides to gargle the barrel of a shotgun and when this chump did, as sad as it is for his kid, I smiled.... This is the asshole who didn't want to be famous but went for a record contract. He didn't want to be famous but kept making records after he got a record contract. He didn't want to be famous but didn't pull a Cat Stevens or Axl Rose and just disappear for a while. No, this "hero" brushed his teeth with pellets and shortly afterwords my school was looking to paint some kind of inspirational picture on the new wing that had just been built. Some of my friends were actually asked to do it. When they told me they were gonna paint a picture of that low life peice of shit I raised holy hell.
The only thing he EVER did was ruin music. He was not a fucking mesiah and I'm so tired of him being treated like a saint for what he's done. He is and always will be a whiney peice of shit. I threw up the caution flag so fucking high that it killed that idea. I was NOT gonna let them make him out to be some kind of savior or inspiration for leaving his child fatherless and basically motherless too. He is NOT John or Paul but he makes it on every damn best of list produced regardless of the topic.

What's missing today? How about taste, swagger, talent, media outlets not owned by Clear Channel and there are NO "REAL" frontmen anymore. Everything is so fucking bland because of the industry, mtv, the above mentioned shitty corporation, and every other media component owned by parent VIACOM. The industry is like that tird that comes back after you flush it. It does it to itself and blames kids for downloading songs they want rather than retarded ass albums by faceless interchangeable bands the industry wants them to buy.
The biggest thing missing is ORIGINALITY!!! I don't mean new music, I mean everyone fits into a category now. Shit like Nickleback is played on the same station that plays Velvet Revolver and Silvertide. Shit like Puff Daddy is played on stations that play Marvin Gaye and its just not right. Every radio station has a playlist that they can not deviate from. In my area FM 99 literally plays the same 8 songs every hour with a commercial break then plays ONE great song like "Dream ON", "Panama", or any Zep song before starting that playlist over at the top of every hour. AND I'M NOT KIDDING. THE SAME EIGHT FUCKING SONGS. THE ONLY DEVIATION IS WHEN THAT GENRE OF MUSIC HAS A NEW HIT BY ANOTHER GENERIC BAND, IT WILL SLIDE IT IN THEN GO BACK TO ITS FORMAT.

Yep..."Kurt Cobain The VOICE OF A GENERATION : A HERO"

Sounds like a government conspiracy to keep people stupid.

          NOT MY GENERATION MOTHERFUCKERS!!!

Another thing is that MTV is completely screwed up in there Perception of Rock And Roll and Heavy Metal. I mean there are people who put "Emo Punk Bands" as Rock it just makes me puke. With Heavy Metal anytime your turn it MTV2 to watch Headbangers Ball you'd Expect to See Motley Crue, Metallica, G'nR, Ozzy e.t.c. videos right? Wrong you constantly see people who are on "The Hot Topic" Mixtape. My god these people cannot sing at all, all you hear is some guy screaming something you can't understand over a Non-Taleneted Guitar player. How'd the Hell did becoming A Goth become instantly Heavy Metal? What a bunch of Freaks!
Theres My rant of the day.
