If Alex is gone, I'm glad; I've been dying to shut the door on this whole "Van Halen" saga once and for all on a personal note, and keep the memories pristine (well, as much as they can be, anyway); I see no better opportunity if this is indeed the case.

Thank God Dave's out there to carry the torch...those other fucks can't apparently do it anymore.

You know, at this point, I'd be happy with a 2 disc live compilation, remastered from between the tours of Van Halen I and 1984...throw together a professional DVD with that, and I'd be totally satisfied with the outcome, good bad and ugly.
