You talk bullshit, EVH was a legend with DLR. That's the reason why he's named one of the greatest guitarists.
Ed was named one of the greatest guitarists because he is....not because Dave forgot the words on stage..face it...Dave was like the sockhop while Sammy is the prom..CVH is Sammy..

So, lets go--you name the place and the time, and I would call your favorite funeral director and pick out your gravestone which will say, "Thorman, the Canuck fag who loves Sammy Hagar" and you will most likely be buried in your favorite panties.....
Ha ha ha......Purple Rain..Purple Rain....DLR apparently was influence by some of Prince's music in the mid 80's..what up with that?

Originally posted by Three Lock Rock eruption fucking sucks, its just a bunch of fucking noodling that doesnt make any sort of sense as an instrumental, no wonder dave loved it cuz he doesnt love any music that actually makes sense, thats for sure. 316 was so much cooler than eruption, fucking think for a second about it, you'll see i'm right.
Eruption introduced the world to two-hand tapping (he didn't invent but he sure knew what to do with it), extreme divebombs and turbo charged licks.
It made all guitarists look like rock n' roll tortoises. (except for Allan Holdsworth, possibly)
No guitarists can deny Eruption's influence.
I wasn't meant to make musical sense anyway. It was about showing-off, but who cares, it ruled!
Eddies playing shaped a whole generation of guitar players... then sadly he lost his way and has struggled to keep up ever since 85... NOTHING that man has written or perfromed since has been valid either as testement to his old values... or in a new and creative way...

the word is stagnent.
I disagree the two songs with Dave from 96 had great guitar licks in both of those songs. As a matter of fact I just listened to them and they both Rock. Although I do like some of the Van Hagar stuff nothing they ever did with Sammy even comes close.
With Dave they never did gay songs like finish what you started and why cant this be love.
