Ya know, I used to dig Mike back in the 'old' VH days.

Nah, even back in the day, Mike with those nuts-in-a-clawcracker background vocals and, er......um.......'tastefully economical' bass style was STILL a tool. Far as that JD bass went, when I first saw it, thought it looked way cool, then thought that all Van Halen needed was to find someone who could actually play it.

Think Mike's best use in Van Halen was during the 1984 tour, when he hunched over and used his tubby, low center of gravity as a human prop for Roth to flip over right before Dave began belting out the first verse to RWTD (see the Panama video for an example of this).
