I ran into him at NAMM about 3 years ago. He was gracious with his time but when it came time for his "clinic"...all he did was play Van Hagar material which was about as inspiring as seeing the 5150 walk sober!

He might be a nice guy in real life but as a musician he fucking sucks open ass.

But anyway, I will give him kudos for not having an ego and realizing his limitations because of this quote from him a few years back :

"I'm actually playing the thing better these days, not just rolling around with it and stomping on it"

Sounds completely like Mike to me. He is much better than generally given credit for. I've been listening to early live and Zero demo stuff, and man there are some great lines in there. I'd be surprised if Ed did any of the CVH stuff.

True enough. If I was assembling the ultimate supergroup of all time, I'd put the Ox on bass and JPJ on keyboards.
