Hey Dutchman as I said I support all of VH. Do you have any idea how when I go on Van-Halen.com that it is the same goddamn thing for fucking 8 months. I feel like I dont even have a favorite band any more. My rip on Ed was basically carried out by frustration with the current state of this one time mighty Ass Kicking machine.

Yeah, but who really gives a shit if Sammy cares about the tone-deaf numbnuts who show up at his concerts?

I mean, nice for you that you like Van Halen regardless of who is singing, but Hagar being a nice guy isn't gonna make his music sound any better to me.

Plus, is giving a shit about your fans really something Hagar should be given props for? Seems to me if you're lucky enough to have a following, having concern for your fanbase and making an effort to please them is just something that goes with the job and not some point to be singled out as an example of a great character trait.

True Terry but I guess that is something that is lost with Ed and AL. Granted the Sammy stuff is tones way down from the earth shattering dave stuff. But Sammy has churned out great tamer songs. Frankly, I am a bit baffled why people bash sammy like he made dave quit back in 1985. I mean it is dave walking away. Atleast Sammy Got Fired!

No...I have no idea what that frustration is like to go on the VH News Desk, van-halen.com, etc... and see the same status quo bullshit nothingness all the time.

Seriously....I do understand your frustration. I spent a great portion of my adolescence idolizing Eddie...and I will still pay to see him. Yet, I had no qualms choosing a screen name here that is a direct slap at him.

Consider my previous comment to you retracted. Perhaps just some of my frustration bubbling to the surface.

People don't bash Sam because he stepped in after Dave quit like they think Ed fired Dave for Sam, because we all know that's not the case.

People bash Sam because he helped Ed pussify Van Halen by churning out power ballads, went around point-blank lying that he sold more records with Van Halen than Roth did, and generally joined in with Ed and Al as they tried to pretend that CVH was somehow inferior to what followed. Sam was just stupid to do so, because any motherfucker with a lick of common sense should have realized that the band he was stepping into meant a lot to a lot of people long before Sam showed up, and the way to endear himself to fans WASN'T to say that everything his predecessor did sucked. Just because Ed, Al and Mike were gonna trade barbs with Roth in the press didn't mean Hagar needed to, or even deserved to. Compared to what Van Halen with Roth were doing in the late 1970s and early to mid 1980s, Hagar was a fuckin' blip on the rock scene, and Roth quitting was what enabled Hagar to have any degree of fame in the first place.....

What is Hagar always gonna be known best as? The first guy who sang for Van Halen after Roth quit.

The reason Sammy gets such a sound bashing on this website? Take a look at who and what it's dedicated to.....now, you think you're gonna be seeing a preponderance of threads concerning how great Hagar is here?
