EEAS was a great album...yeah...it had attitude...it wasn't Classic VH...but certainly stands out on it's own...

but the fact of the matter is that it has nothing to do with Classic vs. Crystal...
"Van Halen was one of the most hallelujah, tailgate, backyard, BBQ, arrive four hours early to the gig just for the parking lot bands. And still to this day is. It's an attitude. I think it's a spirit more than anything else is."

Sting was cool with the Police. Sting solo sucks.

Van Hagar is like Sting solo. IT JUST SUCKS.:D

That is funny as hell Pete.

            I can't even think of 1 2

"Dreams" sound like one of those cheesy, 80's movie, "Top Gun" songs by a band you can't name.

I heard a boot of that tour. Sounds like there playing small places.

                The closing songs:
                ATBL
                When It's Love
                You really got me
                JUMP

                no lie
                no insult intended

                Though I fucking hate 'em

I didn't even listen to the boot. I just looked at the song list. LOL

the whole 2nd set was 60% classic, mighty VH

Pat Benatar has more credibility than VAN HAGAR.

                        GOD-Damn

And that's an excellent comparison, because Sting solo is all about "easy listening" ballads. Just like Van Hagar was about sellout love songs. And notice how both bands fell apart when one person decided that selling out was more important than making kick-ass music. Meaning Eddie with his synthesizer foray starting on 1984 and Sting with his wuss ballads starting on Synchronicity (actually with the last two songs on Ghost in the Machine.)

I think there's another comparison that can be made: Aerosmith on drugs versus Aerosmith off drugs. Aerosmith on drugs was really kick-ass, heavy shit. Aerosmith off drugs is sellout ballads and hiring songwriters from Sweden to help out.

                            Van Hagar Song

                            I'll say this...

The tune FINISH WHAT YA STARTED with DLR on vocals would be an AMAZING track.

Dave's bluesy voice would be KILLER on that track!

Yuk. Anything after 5150 I stopped imagining Dave singing any of those songs. He was suited to sing a few off of 5150, partially because he co wrote and laid down a few tracks prior to "quitting". Summer Nights was one of those songs, and I believe Good Enough was the other. Correct me if Im wrong.

I loved seeing Dave on the sapranos tonight too BTW. Looked and sounded very cool and comfortable. He's got a few more episodes to go too.
"FUCK YOU, YOU FUCKIN' BITCH! WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ANYWAYS? TALK TO ME LIKE THAT? FUCK YOU. DRAG QUEEN LOOKIN' WHORE- YOU AINT SHIT. YOUR THE FRECKLE TO THE LEFT OF MY BROWN EYE. NOW GO MAKE YOURSELF USEFUL...OH, PUT DAD ON THE PHONE"

I've seen quite a few Roth fanatics claiming that Humans Being is the "only Hagar song that rocks and has great guitar". I disagree completely.

Very boring guitar part. Rudimentary, beginners-first- time chords, played in an extremely uninspired manner. You can almost hear Eddie saying, "Yeah, everybody's played this before, but when I do it, it just sounds so special..."
"What we've been doing, which is great and certainly cost saving, is I train in the sand pit in McDonald's. I do a few laps. I go through the tunnel a few times. The kids don't mind if I smoke. Plus, when I'm done, lunch is right there."- DLR 2003
