...a tour with Satch & Vai or somenthing like that, I mean that would fill Eddie ego again so he feels he's the king, that make him work hard again, get a real band and a competitive enviroment and he could play Starfleet and stuff like that then when it's over hire Ted Templeman(don't tell me he is dead...) and then BAMMM rocketship into space, DAVID LEE ROTH man the REAL CVH...but not another singer...

YES,VAI AND SATRIANI can pull it off
EVH CAN'T EVH has been playing the same old tricks
and stuff since dave left
he hasnt invented something new since 84
..not kidding
In fact, I would say that Ed's most "creative" period was 1977. Look how many riffs from that year appear on VH songs.

Yeah, a EVH show up on the G3 tour would once and for all show who the better guitar player is between Vai and Ed....
Ed will NEVER do something like that...Vai would kick his ass....
Ed is a has been....period...
Dave is the reason for CVH, not Ed....
Ed was a great guitar player, but Dave was the Master....Comment

I'm sure that Satch and Vai are just salivating at the possiblity of sharing the stage with a vomit stained wino.Comment

Re: EVH in G3...
I actually talked with Vai about possible future guests on the G3 when the show visited my part of the world. Possible contenders who were, quote "On the list", included John McLaughlin and Allan Holdsworth. It seems, much to my personal joy, that the G3 event is heading down a much more Jazz rock fusion route than one which would accommodate Eddie Van Hire.Originally posted by ElPatron

I'll grant you, watching Eddie spit his dummy out every night in the face of some real guitar playing, the likes of which alcoholism has robbed him of being able to do in the way he used to, would be a real blast to watch, but it'll never happen. I'd say it's about as likely as Steve and Billy re-joining Sir Roth, i.e. incredibly unlikely indeed.http://wakeupinternet.blogspot.com - I say what I like and I like what I bloody well say.Comment

Well, considering I can't stand either Vai or Satch, either, it'd make for one hell of a lame show with Ed...
The only G3 I ever attended was a few years back with Malmsteen, and he kicked the living shit out of both Steve and Joe...Steve and Joe were boring the entire audience to tears after Malmsteen left and it didn't kick in again until the three of them were out together.
Honestly, a lot of people just got up and wandered around during Steve and Joe's sets and waited for Yngwie to get back.Twistin' by the pool.Comment

Ed is still the king. I saw VH last year, and Eddie rules!! He has not lost his skills. He played great. Something is up in VH land because he isn't happy with Sam on stage. In Houston, every time Sam walked over to Ed, Eddie would just walk away from him to another part of the stage. Eddie looked a bit bored playing some of the Van Hagar stuff. I've heard reports of Ed ripping through "I'm The One" at sound check but you all know Spam would not sing it on stage. Ed's a genious, a virtuoso. Sure Ed has been drunk on the last tour, but has that ever stopped him? His tone and feel kick ass still to this day! And yeah, his fingers are still lightning fast. He'd blow the shit off of Vai and Satch.Comment
