Actually, on Encomium: A Tribute to Led Zeppelin, Robert Plant sang with Tori Amos on Down By The Seaside. The whole cd sucked except for STP doing Dancin' Days.

Dave's covered just about all genres that he has the range for. This one isn't too surprising considering the success these cds have. I personally can't listen to them more than once tho.

I think it is their right (and Daves) to do whatever he wishes with his material. TRIBUTE is added more as a marketing tool I suppose, but I'm sure Dave did it to be creative rather than creative or financial desperation. He is having FUN with it, like we are supposed to with all VH music. If you want to look him up in your mind in a certain way , I guess you can. I'd rather watch him experiment and see what happens with the results.

And yea, Hayseed Dixie has done some solid versions of rock stuff (The AC/DC stuff in particular).
