Madonna's sales have been going down for a while. Aerosmith have a new record out? Their tour hasn't even been mentioned here. A lot of people I know aren't thrilled with Metallica cuz they all think that St. Anger Fire thing sucked big hairy man ass. Go down the list. How many years can you see Phil Collins, The Moody Blues, or Ozzfest in a row?
And why is it not a shitty excuse? Cuz if someone shells out a bunch to go see No Doubt or Britney one summer they aren't necessarily going to be able to or want to shell out the same amount next summer when the same artist comes to town.
actually Aerosmith does have a new album out. And in Chicago when the adds roll for Van Halen it has Poundcake, Right Now, Dreazms, and some dlr era tunes too. But not his voice, just the music, whic is VAN HALEN.
Let me ask you this. If dlr could afford promo spots on the radio or if his record company that has lost money on him decided to promote his show, would they do it with songs off of Diamond Dave, or songs from the Van Halen albums? Of which non of his bandmates wrote, produced, or recorded anything on those, yet their whole set is those songs. DLR quit Van Halen, not the other way around, they were a band a forged on.
So answer, please.
Let's be honest -- No one knows if or when VH will tour again. After this tour is over with, Sam and them might go separate ways. Then it might take another six years for them to tour again. The other acts are somewhat guaranteed to come to town again sometime. With Van Halen, Eddie could break out with cancer again (esp if he's still smoking) and die. You have a lot of people my age who haven't seen Eddie play live because the only times we could was the Balance tour when we were 13ish or a couple of years later with VH3, and then we would still probably rely on Mom and Dad to give us the money. A lot of people want to see Eddie play before it's too late and now they have the opportunity.
And I know the VH3 tour didn't hit #1. I believe I addressed that by saying people bailed when they thought it sucked. A few may have endured it to see Eddie play, but I did say that tour sucked ass in the sales department.
You answer me that, if everyone is buying these tickets and going to this tour to see the "wonderful" Sammy Hagar back in Van Halen, why don't they play ANY Sammy Hagar songs in the number one radio market? Why is it that this tour is being referred to on the radio with songs such as Unchained, Ain't Talkin' About Love, and Beautiful Girls? David is discussed many a time here on the radio, but if I didn't have the ol' internet here, I wouldn't know that this tour was with Sammy and not Dave by what is being discussed and played on the radio stations.
