By comparison, OU812 isn't the world's strongest material either. Plus it's not fun at all. The only way you get any kind of fun out of that record, is to throw it like a frisbee on a gravel road. I chose gravel over concrete or assphalt based on the aforementioned fun-factor. After you get bored with flinging it around, you can pile lots of gravel rocks on it and run your car over it. The crunching sound and dust cloud won't happen with a paved road. -
Maybe he doesn't think enough of it because he realized his voice sucks in that album. That is not to say the songs aren't grate, 'coz they are. And just because it hasn't "helped Dave's popularity" doesn't mean jack shit. Do you think Have you ever listened to Edguy or Machael Kiske's 'Instant Clarity' or 'Readiness to Sacrifice'? Not exactly blockbusters, but EXTREMELY GRATE, musically speaking.
Like I said before, Dave needs Ed to sell - Ed needs Dave to make good music. You can make good music and not sell... but in the long run, you can't sell if you can't make good music.
