Another critique of Dave's show...

This needs to be said:

Dave needs to learn how to run the 'board' himself...

Dave has been relying on Hutch to run mic volumes, caller volumes and music volume.

It's annoying to me to hear Dave tell Hutch to 'bring the caller back up', or 'bring that music back up' over and over and over again...

Dave has an idea for a great show in his head...and it will work...

Dave, Hutch cant read your mind...and it's distracting to the flow of the show when you have to tell him five times a phone call to 'bring the caller back up again'...

You are the Maestro, kind sir. You need to do the conducting...

OK, THAT I would agree with, because the show would flow better...you can tell once Dave works the minor kinks out, his show will be (more)amazing.

I said the exact same thing to War yesterday. At least use some hand signals or something.

Dave has intimated that eventually there will be video of his show...so maybe that will show that he is doing a bunch of stuff that would prevent him from running the board...time will tell.

Yeah, right on DPR!... And BTW, they should turn down the backing laughters. Listeners aren't so dumb that they can't have a good laugh without being indicated when! Dave's show has nothing to do with soaps!

I don't know why he needs to go up and down with the music anyway. Just leave it alone during conversation and turn it up when he's singing along to a song. I like that part.

But what I meant was just the volume of the calls...it's obvious when its way too low. Hutch should be all on that without instruction.

Hey NG...ive thought about the reasons why he goes up and down with the volume with callers...I think that he is wary of Stern cranks who call with an innocent comment, the wait for Roth to riff so they can yell 'Baba-boey' and hang up...

Also, did you ever hear the February 1984 Rockline with Roth and Alex? The way Dave riffed along with the music (the music volume would go up and down with PERFECT timing) was awesome. Maybe he is trying to re-create the same effect.

IMO that would be cheesy to play his own songs. But my taste in music is more AWB and Lou Rawls anyway, than Judas Preist and Metallca. :D
