Fair enough - I didn't see where you posted that you had heard the downloads. And by the way, I think Howard is brilliant at what he does and I have laughed my ass off at his show many, many times (particularly when Hank the Angry Dwarf was around!!). The name was chosen when I joined the site to download some bootlegs and didn't realize I would be sticking around to post on the boards. It was right about the time they announced Roth to be Howards replacement and I was excited. Of course the boots weren't working and the rest is brief history.
I have tried and I think succeeded at not getting all bent out of shape over the bad reviews and the responses I have posted on these blogs have not been emotional or impassioned sheep-like rants - even where the critiques were obviously using such a tone. I for one, and most of the posters from this thread, merely expressed their support. And there is nothing wrong with that. Of course the show is not perfect and there is room for improvement. Nobody including surely Dave himself can get upset with constructive criticism. But check out the blog yourself if you haven't been there yet. They were ripping Dave a new asshole because they were just pissed at CBS and at censorship and at having to order siris to listen to Stern now. CBS could have put Edward F. Murrow on the radio to take Stern's place and they would be bitching and complaining about how much he sucks. So I think it is entirely appropriate to post in support of what we like so long as we are rational.
