    A little Story for ya

I work in a record store, and I thought I'd share a little story with ya from my day.

So I'm at the counter, and this guy brings up 5150 to buy.

I want to bitch slap him, but I gotta pay the rent, so I try a gentler tact

Me: "You know this is one their poorer albums, you should try the earlier stuff"

Him: "No, I didn't like the WITH THAT OTHER GUY, first got into them when I heard "When it's Love"

Now I'm shocked that this podgy little bitch has just said that, and regaining my composure I say

"Oh really, what other bands you into to?"

Him: "Well my favourite band is Journey....."

Does that sum it up or what?

Sometimes you don't even have to insult people, they do it for ya!

    Roth on!!!!!

Love Walks In vs. Outta Love Again. 'Nuff said.

Van Halen opened for the Rolling Stones in 1981, Van Hagar opened up for Bon Jovi in 1995. End of story and that is fucking all nah yezz.

Always had a belief that there were more than a few Van Hagar fans who got into them after Roth left and Halen lost their edge because they like their 'rock' soft and girly.

I just can't believe that those who were really into CVH made the switch from Roth to Hagar with any amount of enthusiasm. A possible scenario is that Jump opened up Van Halen's fan base to include a lot of people who liked a pop flavor to their rock, and it was THOSE fans who comprised the bulk of Sam Halen's base, along with wanna-be guitar heroes who were still blown away by Eruption, while the rest of us had already moved onto Vai and Yngwie by the time Why Can't This Be Love came out...

Some girl I knew in high school gave me a new 5150 album in 1986-I honestly was really puzzled because I hadn't even heard that Dave was out of VH, (this was high school rea and I was super busy)....the record looked severely gay with the muscle guy on the front and Sappy Hagar and the rest of the"band" on the back...so the record sat buried for years and years unopened in it's plastic until I sold it yrs later to some used record shop along with some other crud albums I had...
True Story....I just never wanted to listen to that album.

I would have walked right over to the VH section, pulled out VH I and Fair Warning, paid for them myself, and handed them to him....

                    That is not bullshit...

I just would not have allowed that blasphemy....

A few weeks ago for once I was killing time in a big music store in Scotland(I buy most of my stuff on the web these days) and out of curiosity checked out the 'Vs' and Van Halen in particular.

There were just 3 CDs there. VH1, 5150 and BOBW.

Last week I did my monthly trip to a local record store to check out the discount bin. (Usually there are some kickass blues or otherwise rare CD's in there for dirt cheap)

Found 3 copies of 5150 (amongst somewhat great CD's) in there.

For 5$ a pop... and all three had an inch of dust on 'em

                            :D
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

Again, this post is coming from the same "guy" of whom the only pussy he's ever touched was when he came out of his maaa-maaa's.
