You just proved the point of everyone you're arguing with in that one sentence, Plexi.

The mere fact that EDDIE FUCKING VAN HALEN has to be defended with an argument that says he "played in key and played the same song as everyone else" means that he is in a VERY sad state of affairs.

This man once virtually reinvented how the instrument is played...and now he's being lauded for just "keeping in key and on the same song?" Do you see the inherent flaw in your argument?

It's like congratulating a retard for remembering not to fling his own feces at the wall.

The only problem is that the poor retard didn't become that way on his own, and had no control over his unfortunate circumstances.

EVH on the other hand, became a mess by his own hand. What you see on stage now is the result of overindulgence of booze and God knows what else.

I'm one of the biggest EVH fans out there. The man is the SINGULAR reason I picked up a guitar when I was 13 years old.

But there comes a time when you have to see things for how they really are. I never thought that I would be an EVH critic....but you just can't ignore how much he has fucked up his legacy and that of his band over the last 15 years or so.

Mr. Plexi, I have been a VH fan since 1980. I am figuring your anywhere from 15 to 18 years of age. I am not sure what planet you are on, but Ed has deteriorated into a drunk. After watching footage from the last Van Hagar tour and this little jam with Chesney, it is crystal clear that the man needs to go back to where he once belonged. Like I said, Joe Perry, Keith Richards and even Mic Mars who is suffering from a disease are playing their instruments with some passion and giving the fans their money's worth. You have the right to defend EVH, but what has he done for you or his fans lately. We the fans are the reason he is rich and yet we get no compilations from the DLR era, concert dvd's or decent new music. So keep defending this shell of a man who once ruled the world of Hard Rock.
