pricewise...it really depends on a lot of things...

if you know someone...and get lucky...it can be cheap...

if you don't...it can be cheap...but not necesarily reliable...

and a lot depends on the bandwidth that a site takes up...

in DDLR's case...a boatload of downloads...

The Roth Army of course...has the forums...and everything else...

for us...just the bulk of posts...and bullshit sigs and pics take up the majority of the bandwidth...

now...we have a server that used to be moderately reliable...but...

let's just say they are much bigger now...

and the price keeps going up...

    so...even though I know it's not a money issue...IE...not enough money...

I'm sure when Von and Sesh sit down once a month...probably the first thing that runs through their mind is...damn...I can think of 20 things I could do with this money...

Well...obviously we don't get near the amount of donations as we used to...

God WARF...I'm sick of those fucking things...

                anyways...

I run a site for a high school basketball team...with five pages...a small forum...

and it's completely paid with sponsors...

                but like I said...it's a small site...

                it's literally 20 bucks a month...no big deal...

The Army doesn't have any sponsors now...other than the paypal...and like I said...we aren't getting barely anything now...

and this site is monsters bigger than the small site I run...

I don't know the exact figure that our site costs now...but I know our site has costed $230-$260 a month in the past...with our old host...Burstnet...and that doesn't include any time we'd go over bandwidth...and have to pay for that...

and that was a long time in the past...

so...for some people...a decent chunk of change...

you can't imagine the size of these websites...

Now I'm not sure what the deal is with Von's site...I know they were happy with their server issues the last time I talked to them...Sesh...I think...a month or so ago...

We were talking about merging sites...and he had nothing but good things to say about the server they were using...

so I'll leave that to him...to discuss...

How much have the donations helped?

                absolutely...
