WARF, slow down!!!!! I'm getting drunk just reading this shit!

Spammy feeds Mike's ego. Makes him feel like more than just the bassplayer. I actually held onto some respect for Mike until he went over to the gay side and teamed up with Spammy AGAIN after another failed Van Hagar project.

It's fine to have your friends, but try and remember who made you a star.
    Stay Frosty, muthas!

If Mike was smart he would capatalize on his association with Van Halen more. He still has what he brought to the table in classic VH. Solid bass playing and killer backing vocals.

Look at Mike during the Fair Warning tour. The dude looked pretty cool in the day, then in the Sammy era he started wearing the same McDonalds uniform as Ronald McHagar.

If Mike wanted to piss the Van Halens off and say "Fuck You!" to them for their horrid behavior towards him on the last tour, Mike should hook up with Roth and get a killer guitar player and drummer. Do Van Halen without the Van Hasbeens.

          Amen.

If it wasn't for Eddie Van Halen, Michael Anthony would be managing a car wash.

I agree wholeheartedly!! I really don't agree with the cats who buy into the whole I LUB ALL THREE 'ERAS' idiocy an' jus' digs it when Mikey sings lead vocal. He ain't no lead singah. He's the bass player. An' his back up singin' sounds great up until oh...'bout 1985 nah yez yez...

In summation, I don' wann' hear Mikey Mullethy singin' SGMD or RWTD. Those songs belong to Diamond Dave. 'Nuff said.

Mike just seems to be directionless, musically and in his career choices.

He needs a leader, and to be told what to do.

Just never really gave the guy all that much thought, even when CVH was in its prime.

His bass lines weren't the work of a virtuoso, but they really didn't need to be to get the job done. He added a nice contrast to Daves natural register on the backing vocals, but when I think of CVH, the background vocals aren't the first thing that springs to my mind. Nice that they were good, but not essential, IMO.

Not a shocker that he's hanging around with Sammy hagar, either. Clearly, Dave wants nothing to do with him outside of an all or nothing CVH reunion scenario, and the Van Halens could care less if he's around (and realistically, its not like 5150 has been a hotbed of activity the last decade or so, therefore there's no point in him hanging around there watching Ed drinking and trying to figure out how to run his mixing board in order to record a bunch of demos that'll never see the light of day, anyway - fuck, it's not like Ed's even gonna let Mike PLAY on anything he's doing these days to begin with, so...)

Hanging and playing with Hagar is a comfort zone; doesn't have to put out any effort, and he gets a paycheck. Kind of a no-brainer.

The bass player will participate if Roth and the Van Halens put it back together. It's a given. That's all I know and all I need to know. Outside of that, his current hot-sauce selling waborita endeavours are of no interest.

I've always been down on Bass Player. I'd want him there if there was a reunion because he's an original member and all that, but that's as far as it goes.

Think about if you worked with a dude who, for OVER 20 YEARS, just bent over and took it from the boss on every possible occasion. Just a total fucking yes-man, with zero balls. Just took it and pretended to like it, never stood up for himself cause basically the boss was paying him enough that it was worth it to him. Would you have beers with that dude after work? Fuck no. That's Bass Player to me. I'm not impressed that after two-plus decades of playing yes-man to the Van Hagar brothers he's recently starting calling out Ed in the press.

And I don't buy that "But he loves the fans!" bullshit, either. He sung the corporate tune for way too long for anyone to credibly say that about him.
